Today the Champ Man universe celebrates an icon. Rumour has it he was a data mishap. A glitch in the matrix. But mishaps don’t score 50 goals a season at an 8.17 average. To Madeira - you were real to us. You were real to us...

Probably the best planning intervention I have seen in some time! Really impressive.
Intensification in South Tottenham. Since 2010 the council has allowed houses to add 1.5 storeys subject to a strict design code, after sustained local advocacy. Uptake has been high: in a generation the whole area will be 3.5 storeys. Might this be useful for other communities?

We win together and we lose together. So proud to have teammates with such top character. Takes huge bollocks just to volunteer. As for the racism, hurtful but not surprising. Will never get bored of saying that more needs to be done. Educate and control the platforms!✊🏽

And the government was just getting comfortable with finally talking about potential Green Belt policy reform. Pretty sure we can put that back in the cupboard now 😩
Chesham and Amersham by-election won by Lib Dems, overturning majority of more than 16,000 in a constituency that had always been Conservative https://t.co/R2wl4dp9Mq

The responses to this post show you how a big a challenge we have in terms of reducing car use / reducing pollution levels. A lot of work to be done. Will be interesting to see the impact on behaviour and attitudes of the Brum Clean Air Zone 🚗💨💨

...are voting based on nat. politics. People have never been more alive to local politics. Eg - people trying to put square Surrey results into round hole - a lot of politics down there is based on housing growth decisions, hence local res associations having success there. (2/2)

Don’t think this is limited to Manchester, Andy Street has done similar with Dudley and Walsall having significant Con majorities for first time in long time and Cons now on Sandwell. Also shows that local politics matters - so many have it wrong assuming the electorate... 1/2
This is worth reading by Tory peer and polls nerd Robert Hayward about how @AndyBurnhamGM’s perceived success as Great Manchester mayor also - almost uniquely - delivered local council gains for Labour in his patch

👇 incredible tweet form a former Housing Minister - replace HS2 line with houses. Just incredible...
Stop HS2 & use the land already compulsory purchased & destined for railway infrastructure to build the homes this country needs instead Let’s build for key workers & 1st time buyers, build council houses & retirement homes Full article👇🏼 @Daily_Express
