Andrés León Araya (uses two last names) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Intl Studies at Indiana University. Trained as both a political scientist & an anthropologist, his work looks at the intersections between plantation economies, violence and state formation.

Our seminar series starts next week and will give students the opportunity to engage with prominent experts on pressing global issues. We are looking forward to our first seminar, “India and the Great Power Rivalry,” next Wednesday (Sept 13) at 12:30 pm in GA3134!

This program gives students the opportunity to be research assistants for faculty members. Students are compensated $15/hour for up to 10 hours per week for 15 weeks. Project updates will be shared at the Tobias Center Research Symposium in December.
