It is 100% not. If a world existed where you could prompt a game out of nothing and it was all completely emergent, it would be a cool novelty for a month before most gamers were bored of it because it lacked curated, shared experiences. Also it makes no sense cost-wise.
How long until emergent game mechanics? how long until the towns are full of agents?. This is the future of gaming.

Like, I do expect AI tools to become way more common in games, TBH. But 'world generation' feels very limited in value. People love Elden Ring because they like seeing and talking about how other people tackled the same challenge. Not because a challenge was generated randomly.

It's gained ~30 seconds of memory from where it was about a year ago. It won't disrupt the games industry the way people are hyping until it can create a world (and models) with permanence. Even then, shared experiences are a huge part of the value of successful games right now.
Realtime? How is it evolving so fast? This is essentially an entirely new type of video games.

People who wholeheartedly believe this either:. 1. Were not paying attention in the class. 2. Didn't actually read much. Questions like this were not about totally random descriptions. Good writing also doesn't just list colors of random objects - even when it's not symbolic.

Just so people are aware - unless the company is completely and fully dissolved, this isn't true. If it's in bankruptcy, and someone comes along to buy up the assets, they could take action on an NDA.

Game is good, but you can absolutely sequence break it. It's also got indestructible material that they use to keep players 'in-bounds' and will fully encase a puzzle in it. But I've definitely dug to Bananas to find out there was a platforming puzzle on the other side too.
I am continually amazed - and impressed - by the next-level wizardry that is the level design in Donkey Kong Bananza. Even with all the destruction and physics, the game has yet to 'break' for me. I want to know more about how this was designed & tested. Bravo Nintendo!

Very much agreed. Loved Expedition 33, but its story was inspired from several RPGs before it and unabashedly so. They did it phenomenally well and stuck the landing, but if you were well-versed in rpgs before it, you probably saw where it was going faster than others.
Exactly why the Xenoblade community called it French Xenoblade! all of those story and character beats have been thoroughly explored in the Xeno series and many other RPGs. except they don’t do the writing trope of “what if there were no good guys,” which is exactly why.

Quite literally nobody (or nearly nobody) is. Why do people make up outrage to get mad at?. The responses to the casting are all strictly positive or people mocking that "libs will be mad it's not Hunter Schafer" but there aren't any of those libs to be found.

The thing is - this isn't the best way to do this in the newer versions of GML. I just think that only really matters if the game wasn't performant or it was bottlenecking him somehow. I think MOST people wouldn't decide to refactor if it was working/performant though.

The hate for this guy is so strong that there is now a community note upvoted by people who do not know 2018 gamemaker studio just using a reddit post that has nothing to do with the code they're talking about and doesn't apply to his use-case for this code anyway. Crazy.
It is now fashion to hate @PirateSoftware without reason. If you look at the full code you'll see that he's documenting what each state means, and initializing them to zero. He used an array since it's easier to serialize / deserialize to disk. This is the best way to do this.

Putting aside that anyone through high school SHOULD know these words; all of these are very, very easy questions if the vocab was taught. Like it's the English equivalent of 2+2=.4.1,000,000.200,000.597. Kinda sucks that people just aren't great with English vocab, though.

I'm not sure I can say the story is great when a lot of the emotional impact of scenes gets extremely lost because we rushed through it at an insane pace (looking at you, Jill arc).
