**ON TOMORROW** Join a stellar line-up online to discuss the almost-forgotten national 'Asian Century' policy strategy. It was ambitious, outward-focussed and long-term... so what happened? 🗓️ Wed 9 Nov, 5:30-7pm AWST @HelenCSullivan @TinleyMLA @uwanews https://t.co/QbfFPfzJcc

If you're gonna listen to any speech about #Ukraine 🇺🇦, let it be this one. The Kenya ambassador to the UNSC perfectly explains how people across Africa understand Ukraine, and what the Kremlin's acts of aggression mean in our post-colonial world.

Is Zak Kirkup and the Liberal Party suggesting WA doesn’t deserve $1.2 billion of Commonwealth infrastructure funding? This funding should be provided to WA for vital infrastructure no matter who wins the election. WA shouldn’t be held to ransom by the Liberal Party.

The utter refusal, or inability, of the WA Liberals to cost, or even attempt to cost, their election policies is extraordinary. Highlights the fact that the WA Liberals simply cannot be believed - they have no intention to deliver on anything they say. #dontrisktheLibs

I wanted to remind everyone the reason for night time penalty rates. The hours aren’t convenient. So tonight at midnight I’ll be holding a media conf about Govt pay cuts that threaten every penalty rate. Not sure how many will want to turn up. But that’s the point. #auspol

What is clear - with world wide evidence - is the best economic policy is controlling the spread of the virus.

Ultimately, had the McGowan Govt not responded strongly to the first community case in 10 months, Treasury highlight that the impact of a longer lockdown could have been far more severe, as witnessed in NSW which took an estimated $3.2b hit during its recent lockdown.

WA Treasury analysis shows the WA economy still expecting strong growth despite the recent five-day lockdown. The lockdown is expected to have a negligible impact on economic growth, with an expected reduction of less than 0.05% of GSP (or around $120 million).

More good news on WA's recovering economy with our unemployment rate in November down to 6.4%, from 6.6% in October. 2nd lowest of all States. Strong employment growth of 11,388 people in the month, and a growing participation rate now up to 68.7% (from 68.3% in October).

The Mirai, (under development by Toyota) runs on hydrogen and emits only water vapour. Will hydrogen cars challenge electric vehicles to be king of emissions free motoring?
