I wonder if that O-LEBRON will hold Good: outperforming shot quality from the 2nd and 3rd levels Bad metrics: relatively non-existent OReb + new low in poor passing so far + underperforming by a lot at the rim + no self-created rim pressure + poor screening + awful post play

350 is Rui, who’s having a career low year so far in the metric by far. Of his 7 seasons, this year ranks: - Last in rate of shots created for teammates - 6th in quality of shots created - Last in efficiency as a passer - Last in versatility - 4th in On-Ball Gravity

New tool in the tracker doc: pick a player & play type to see how their data looks in various offense types! Here we can see how Austin Reaves' ball screen scoring has looked based on if LA's running sets or freelancing

Could be! Him BSing often in pressers makes it hard to say. Last year he gave a specific # that’d mean LA was organized ~98% of the time in a game, which was an obviously incorrect #. My stuff is all logged & viewable + I’m happy to provide insight on example plays when asked.

@Tim_NBA Isn’t JJ’s definition and formula for organized offense different than what you have?

Good lord he's jumping sideways. This is not good form. You want your feet angled but your momentum going at the rim, not the direction your feet are pointing.

That’s a pretty looking, fluid stroke by Adou. Was known as a Shooter in HS before his crazy growth spurt also caused his Hands to grow to such an extent- It messed w/ his shooting mechanics and he’s had to re-acclimate & adjust himself ever since. https://t.co/iH6aVMZJJX

I won't tell anyone he can't get back to a solid 3PT%, but I wouldn't expect it to happen soon/suddenly. It'll likely be a multi-year build.

The roster talent is absolutely up, which has an impact on the difficulty-adjusted shot making. It's also led to πŸ“ˆ ePPP for each of: - Freelance - Sets - Sets w/good coverage fit - Sets w/poor coverage fit - Help Beaters All tides have risen. The frequency mix is just worse.

@Tim_NBA Of all the metrics you track in relation to playcalling, would you say JJ has improved as a coach this season, remained the same, or regressed?

Related to this lack of countering: The percentage of LA's post ups and isolations defended as 1v1s has gone πŸ“‰πŸ“‰πŸ“‰πŸ“‰ as the year has progressed. Teams are sending help more often as LA isn't keeping them honest. If/when LA does, the true 1v1 rate will rise again.

LA countered proactive post/iso help 40% of the time last night (4/10). They're at 38% for the season. When they do counter, they have a 155 ORtg (124 expected) and 72% of shots are open. When they don't, they have an 88 ORtg (95 expected) and 34% of shots are open. Big gap
