A fine & timely piece by @AdamBienkov. His description of 'managerial timidity' at the BBC is reminiscent of Britain's truly lousy managements in the car industry & Fleet Street in the 1970s. You may recall how they ended up ...
đ´The BBCâs Attempts to Appease the âRight-Wing Coupâ Against It Are Now Seeding Its Own Destruction By attempting to appease the forces seeking to destroy them, the BBC has helped trigger a crisis that now threatens its very future, argues @AdamBienkov

Very glad you enjoyed the interview. And yes - it's a truly extraordinary tale of secrets, lies, cover-ups, smears ...and festering spy scandals.
Excellent interview with @TimTateBooks on his new book, 'To Catch a Spy'. Read this with 'Spycatcher' by Peter Wright & Chapman Pincher's 'Their Trade is Treachery', to see the lengths politicians & the state will go to lie, cover up & deny the truth. https://t.co/oZMkO5oqbS

Very much looking forward to this. It's quite a tale: spy scandals, cover-ups, smears, lies to Parliament ... and an epic courtroom drama. See you there !
Peter Wright (ex-MI5) wanted to publish his memoires and Margaret Thatcher, PM, wanted to stop him. The Spycatcher affair went to a Sydney courtroom and beyond. Come and hear @TimTateBooks and @gavinesler discuss the evidence @ClaphamBookFest Tickets at https://t.co/SKhC4RcrbK

I wrote about O9A & its avowal of killing in my 1991 book, Children For The Devil. I included its own publications explicitly endorsing 'human sacrifice'. It's unfortunate that no action was taken against O9A.
Declan Candiani has been convicted in London of possessing documents likely to be useful to someone committing or preparing an act of terrorism. He confessed to his involvement with one of the most evil far right groups in the world, the Order of Nine Angles, founded by

If you need any more recommendation, even the CIA calls my @iconbooks investigative spy expose & legal drama "captivating", "cogent" and "exceedingly well" written. And who am I to disagree ?
@TimTateBooks tells the story of Peter Wright's ruthless and lawless obsession to uncover Russian spies, his determination to reveal the truth, and the lengths the British government would go to silence him. To Catch a Spy is out now in paperback! https://t.co/QhMqPbzIOO

You can love your country without being a bigot. As the emphatically progressive Show Of Hands (@showofhandsnews) sang in 'Roots': " "I've lost St. George and the Union Jack. That's my flag too and I want it back" See also @billybragg's fine book 'The Progressive Patriot'.

The @DailyMail today overtly re-embraces its infamous fascist history. If you work at the Mail, hang your head in shame.

Huge congrats to @Lionesses. Amazing to think that 12 years ago when I published my book about the secret history of women's football, TV execs said no-one was interested in the sport. So, so pleased that @lionesses have proved them wrong.

Good to see @ICOnews finally getting tough(ish) with the Cabinet Office. My book on the 1980s Spycatcher Affair described its lengthy history of lying & obfuscation. Spoiler : the Cabinet Office has recently broken its own promise to release its Spycatcher files this month.
The ICO is taking action against the Cabinet Office because of lengthy and unexplained FOI delays. In a new practice recommendation the ICO is highly critical of the Cabinet Office approach to FOI, telling it to supply quarterly updates for monitoring of its future performance.

Very glad you're enjoying the book. I was honoured to tell the stories of these remarkable women - and to piece together the secret history of the sport

I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong, but I fear this is a very bad decision. Farrell is too slow of foot, hand & thought & his influence has always stifled creative players around him.

A fine, honest and sobering analysis from @johnmcdonnellMP. It's depressingly clear that @Keir_Starmer does not hold any fixed principles. Time for a change. https://t.co/8hSPox6Lns

The welfare bill passed, but it was chaos. A party this dysfunctional and divided cannot escape the wrath of voters at the next election, says John McDonnell, former Labour shadow chancellor

It's not often that a British author receives a glowing book review from the CIA (definitely a first for me) ... but the Agency has just published exactly that about my @iconbooks account of the bizarre 1980s Spycatcher Affair, "To Catch A Spy" https://t.co/ttjho7FRC4

Amen. 100%. (And add in the UK while we're at it.)
Canada and Australiaâs relationship has always been underdone despite our countries having so much in common. @AlboMP and @MarkJCarney are already off to a good start but we should do a lot more. One thing Canada could consider is our electoral system with compulsory voting and

Lori - the FBI files (which have been available for 30+ years) contain far more interesting names: those reported as actual conspirators. Details in my book
Of all the thousands of pages Iâve read in the new #RFKFiles, this one really got my attention. (Read it and youâll see why!) Who was Clifford Flitty, and where did he disappear to? The FBI & State Dept looked for him â exhaustively â for months, but never could track him down

Amen to this. Disgusting thievery by @Meta (several of my books have been illegally used - but I am very far from alone: there are thousands of authors affected.)
"This is a blatant infringement of the Authorâs copyright" Thank you to @carolynharris24 M.P. for raising awareness in Parliament of our petition with over 50,000 signatures calling for action following Metaâs use of 7.5 million pirated books. #MetaBookThieves #MakeItFair

What SHOULD make them interested is the sharp rise in right-wing domestic terror attacks after Oklahoma. Some involved the same groups with whom McVeigh associated. And yet ... crickets ...
Can confirm. Nobody in US media wants to touch OKBOMB. I know serious journalists and documentary people who've wanted to. But the bigwigs don't want it touched. This has nothing to do with normal politics either. Ds & Rs both want OKBOMB kept quiet. Make of that what you will.
