Officially on sale in Australia from tomorrow, the Steam Deck remains a revolutionary bridge between PC games and console-like playability, and it may be the greatest handheld ever made that doesn't say "Nintendo" on it. My review:
theage.com.au
Valveâs Steam Deck has great hardware and removes Windows from the equation, making for a streamlined and accessible PC gaming handheld.

As a 60fps devotee who often settles for 30 to avoid blurry pictures and weird artefacts (FF7, Alan Wake 2), the PS5 Pro absolutely delivers. The extra grunt and extraordinary upscaling made for incredible 60fps modes in every Pro-enabled game I tested.
theage.com.au
Not all players will appreciate the PS5 Pro upgrade, but running pin sharp 4K games at 60 frames per second can be transformative.

If you enjoy having annoyed cyclists passing you constantly, I can recommend commuting on an e-scooter (which are limited to 20km/h in Victoria).

I was honoured to preview the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto Japan last week, and itâs both not what youâd expect from a museum and exactly what youâd expect from Nintendo.
theage.com.au
The Japanese giantâs first museum is jam packed with nostalgia and rare items â and tells us a lot about its future.

ICYMI from the weekend. Despite all the arguments that âSony should have done X instead of making a $1200 consoleâ, the PS5 Pro is going to do fine. My analysis:
theage.com.au
Most PS5 players will not upgrade, and that suits Sony just fine â but the most dedicated gamers absolutely will.

As a big Star Wars fan I've really enjoyed skulking around and drinking in the atmosphere in Star Wars Outlaws, but the game also has some issues that are hard to ignore. My review:
theage.com.au
The Star Wars underworld is a great fit for Ubisoftâs open-world checklist formula, but this criminal syndicate caper has a few major flaws.

"A history of women playing sports is also a history of successful female athletes being subject to questions about their sex"
theage.com.au
Humans exhibit a wide variety of differences in sexual development. There is no simple binary. And a history of women playing sports is also a history of questions about their sex.

With the Steam Deck still a no-show at Aussie retail, the ROG Ally X is easily the best portable gaming PC youâll find officially. My review:
theage.com.au
A huge battery and powerful internals make ASUSâ handheld a great choice for taking your PC games library with you, even though Windows holds it back.
