I honestly just don't know how people can come to the conclusion that Battletech is anything even close to grimdark.

What has been accepted as Battletech general canon is being destroyed by CGL who gives us desolation and calls it Battletech. -fin-. (Wow you read all that by a total stranger?? I wouldn't have 😂😂).

I don't think offshoots like Gothic are ever good. Disagree on that if you will, but it is particularly damaging and disruptive now. And the cat is out of three CGL bag that they want more and more of these ridiculous alternate offshoots. 16/17.

Many have said about Battletech Gothic that it would be okay if the IP was healthy. The reason for this thinking is because when the General concept is understood clearly, then a distracting offshoot won't cause harm. Everyone will agree it's not generally accepted. 15/17.

Universes like Battletech are losing the rules and understandings that have long been generally accepted among the fans for decades, because CGL is adopting a "whatever goes, all ideas are equal" attitude. 14/17.

When you lose the General acceptance this way to every Specific then the IP becomes an amorphous blob and doesnt stand out in any way. Then the IP dies. 13/17.

In Battletech's case it has become anything to anyone (as long as they accept this premise), causing it to be nothing to those who have known it best and longest. 12/17.

Thus when new fans discover an IP and there is not a solid effort to instruct what the General understanding and General truths of the IP are, then all individual Specific understandings subsume the General. 11/17.
