Today, @RwandaGender & UN Women hosted the 5th #GenerationEquality bi-annual reflection, convening partners to share progress & explore solutions to advance #Rwanda’s commitments under the AC on Tech & Innovation to enhance women & girls #DigitalInclusion, education & leadership.

An expert panel with @RwandaFinance, @AGRA_Africa, @IFAD & @PSF_Rwanda captured the importance of gender-transformative policies & tools, climate-resilient approaches & innovative partnerships as pillars to uphold women’s participation & increased impact across agri-value chains.

“#RuralWomen are the backbone of #agriculture. Yet, if agriculture were a race, they’d run twice as far, often barefoot, but still pass the baton with a smile. It’s time we gave them better shoes and the head start they deserve," inspired @RasDagmawi, @IFAD Rwanda & Burundi Rep.

Opening remarks: UNW Prog Mgt Specialist @Tikikel emphasized, “Empowering women is one of the most powerful levers to improve food security, strengthen resilience & drive equitable economic growth. However, it requires deliberate choices in our policies, strategies & financing.”

.@U_Consolee stressed the urgent need to confront all forms of GBV, especially those emerging in digital spaces. She emphasized that prevention starts in the family, and called for coordinated action to address harmful norms, promote equality & strengthen family support systems.
