I’m so excited to finally announce that we’re moving to DC! I’ve accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of I/O Psychology at the George Washington University. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter has in store for us. This little one is clearly just as thrilled!

Hi #iopsych friends! I'm looking for contributors for a #SIOP24 research incubator about skills (defining, measuring, developing, etc). We have a bibliometric analysis mapping the transdisciplinary skills conversation and would love to add other papers!

have you developed a psychological measure for publication? really consider putting a CC-BY license on it before you submit, which allows for free use with citation (as hoped for); the publisher cannot paywall it @creativecommons

P.S. I'm planning to take a student this cycle. I'm working on lots of great projects related to personality in teams, leadership, and human-AI teaming. If you know of someone who might be interested, send them my way!

We’re looking for 1-2 more papers to add to our #SIOP23 symposium submission on employee voice. The evolving theme includes leader responses to voice, non-work factors impacting voice, and other understudied topics. DM me or @CPhetmisy if you might be interested! @SIOPtweets

Shout-out to the other neurodivergents who use parentheses too much (to add context to make sure nothing is misunderstood) (because parentheses clarify our directness) (I hope this tweet makes sense).

Received a 6-paragraph email from a self-described White male who saw my microaggressions paper and wanted to explain to me why White people resent “Blacks,” why my study was a waste of time, & why I need to do microagg. research on White people to prove that I am “not a racist.”

Hi, I’m an IO psychologist. You may know me from my greatest hits including, “No, the Myers Briggs is not a good employment test,” “No, I don’t design closets,” and “Yes, we’ve tried to change the name a dozen times, but we never agree on what to change it to!” #iopsych

As the AAP acknowledges, these recommendations do not work when there is no paid parental leave in the United States. Full stop. This will continue to add to the mental load and burnout working mothers continue to face. (Oh yeah—and there’s still no formula available.)

Doctors should support breastfeeding for two years or more — instead of one year or more — the American Academy of Pediatrics said in new guidelines released on Monday. The group also acknowledged the obstacles that stand in parents’ way.
