My toxic and abusive ex told me not to pursue voice acting because I'd be "wasting my time" so I made a list of stuff he enjoys and would figure out who cast those things and audition for them. Jojo was the first one. Disgaea was another. I think I have like 2 more things left.

There are people that just want to get their feet wet doing this kind of work.
You don't need to resort to AI for indie animation.

K so if you see a game that offers this, look in the terms of service for "in perpetuity" because that means they will be able to use your voice forever in other projects without paying you no matter how well a game does
EA new patent would allow players to voice characters in games themselves
You would input speech and then the tech would replicate your voice for in-game characters

If you're an independent game developer, you can get voice actors looking to get their start and are willing to work with your budget at a wonderful place called the Voice Acting Club. It's not hard. You don't have to resort to AI.

I really feel like Encanto was the first time I saw a Latin American family in an animated film that actually looked like mine, and that's why it means a lot to me.
Encanto really nailed the multiracial family look. I believe every single one of these characters are related regardless of their differences in skin tone or hair type.

Because some VAs will literally get harassed/death threats from fans who don't understand actor =/= character.
I have voiced quite a few villains, and it hasn't been an issue at all. Cannot say the same for other folks. Everyone's boundaries are different.
Talking to VAs I notice a bit of a disturbing trend, VAs who don't want to play characters who do very bad things. Is this something others have noticed? Any VAs wanna comment on this? Have you turned down a role because your character is pure evil? (cont)

Barely any white folks in comparison. But loads of POC. I've even read for open ethnicity stuff, only to have the race change to black, latine, or both when I book it

Plus I really think a lot of trauma that people have as kids stems from them being brought into the world when their parents weren't ready for that responsibility of raising a child because of societal pressures from other people. I think it's really unhealthy and sad.

Guys, voice actors generally LIKE being tagged in fanart posts of their characters. A lot of the time thats how people end up designing prints for autographs at cons. We see fanart we like and commission the artist.
We just don't like being tagged in gross stuff. 🙃

Lily's accent is my grandmother's accent. She basically raised me, so I was steeped in her sound constantly. So when I do Latin accented characters, it's THAT sound I pull from, so that it's rooted in something real and authentic to my blood memory. 💗
