Lmaoo. The only reason why I have one in grad School was because I got a second job just to pay off my credit cards and build one. But I worked it nearly the same amount of hours I was in lab π and it took a year and a half ππ

Every time I get to a place to be able to rebuild my emergency fund, something inevitably breaks and completely drains it again π
@Ti_Enjoli
Yeah, I had an "emergency fund" :( and then it all went away when I went to grad school. by that, I mean, it was small and easy to deplete since I was moving from a place in upstate new york to a major city.

I am FINALLY in a stable place to have an emergency fund, but have an understanding that this is a privilege that many do not have. I grew up in a family where we lasted on cents until the next paycheck. God forbid we had fines/med emergency/unexpected repairs

Go ask United Airlines. They begged the government for money because they didn't have the liquid cash to pay their employees when COVID hit because they were too busy buying back their own company's stocks to set up an emergency fund.
