Personal updates: my mom made a full recovery from almost dying of anemia related complications last summer, my dog Goldie got major dental surgery, I got a new car, recovered from a lay off and just celebrated my second year anniversary.

So the energy industry was there and willing to train me from scratch. It’s been a very humbling journey and I’m so thankful there were opportunities for me to switch. I honestly wish there was a path to continue my studies but it just got to a point. I deserved rest.

Starting in 2023 I realized I was gonna lose funding so I tried to gain employment here in planetary sciences here in Houston and it just wasn’t happening and I was tired of knocking on doors and finally told myself nobody is going to answer the door.

Been away for a while. Had to work to support my mom & me, and it was tough breaking into a new industry (energy from planetary sciences). I made the hard choice to drop my PhD to focus on life and I’m glad I did.

We are still leaving voice mails and no one answers. Looking for organizations at this point to help reach out to @nrgpark to get my mom her wheelchair back and discuss this horrible incident
First time taking my mother out in a wheelchair and you know what happened ? Someone stole it, okay fine but we had to argue for NRG to wheel us to our parking spot, they expected my mother to walk. I’m speechless that they were able to blantly violate ADA @nrgpark

Day 4 of my mom not having a wheel chair and @nrgpark making zero attempt to contact us despite an incident report, no one answers the phone and we have left voice mails

They also weren’t going to fill out a report, they initially gave us a lost and found card and wished us the best of luck, @nrgpark please let me know how you want to proceed.

Wheelchairs are just left out, not secured, if someone took it I understand, they won’t look at footage until Monday but I had to raise hell for them to properly escort my mother and I to our parking spot. I had to cry for them to even care. Those who are disabled deserve dignity
