Having spent a better part of my weekend at KNH,it is heartbreaking to see so many Kenyans that can't access proper healthcare, a hospital on it's knees. Delapitated wards, lack of meds.
This hospital has the potential to be the best in Eastern Africa.

We already have very few options when it comes to quality education for our cubs.
Now the little that was there has been cut by 35% that means fewer qualified teachers

The budget under debate in Parliament has some big cuts. For example,
1. Free primary education cut by 21%,
2. Special education -cut by 35%
3. School feeding programme- defunded,
3. Free day secondary cut by 5%,
4. University education cut by 22%.

Very few schools accept SN kids and if they do they are costly. We are either forced to take them kms away from home so as to get a decent education
Some take them to boarding because no other option.

Personally I think:
-ALL schools should have a special needs program alongside the usual one. This is because if we continue to segregate special needs in one school how will they adjust to normal society? Also this gives normal kids a chance to see this is ok. We are all one.

For years I've spoken about parents of children with disabilities getting a Tax relief.
I'm truly so glad that Senators

took the time to listen to us parents and make an amendment to the Bill.
Parents and caregivers of children with disabilities are set to receive significant tax relief when the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Bill No.7 of 2023, is passed by the Senate.

Parents and guardians of special needs kids need tax rebates. If the PAYE was to be reduced to 10% or even zero this would greatly help in increasing their care.
Also medical care needs to be affordable in all counties. Not just the major towns.
