Lead by example – skipping lunch, working late, sending emails in the early hours of the night & at weekends all act to reinforce behaviours that are not conducive to a healthy workplace – the tone from the top is so important in promoting positive wellbeing #worldofworkchat
A6 lead by example take ownership of their own duty of care #WorldofWorkChat

I agree, I'm all for de-stigmatising mental health, but I do worry that some organisations are introducing MHFA to tick their wellbeing box & yet still fail to get to the root cause of their issues #worldofworkchat
@GinLalli Its where #MentalHealthAwareness #mentalhealth First Aid has a role because the manager than has a framework/ boundaries #WorldofWorkChat

I often sympathise with mid-mngrs, they can be pulled in 2 directions & in prioritising the wellbeing of their team can fall victim to neglecting their own wellbeing, this is why wellbeing must be taken seriously & embedded within the culture of the organisation #worldofworkchat

Agree @GinLalli - and recognise that wellbeing does not mean perpetual happiness! #worldofworkchat
A4 – Know that it’s not a ‘target to reach’ – we’re all a work in progress! #WorldofWorkChat

A4: It is also important to have hobbies that are unrelated to work and that provide some sense of meaningfulness – evidence suggests that to really recuperate from the daily grind of work, we need to engage in activities that our brains can distinguish from work #worldofworkchat

Couldn't agree more with you @millennialltweet - I recently ran a well-being study with an organisation and got thanked by so many of the participants after the interviews - they just wanted to get stuff off their chest! #worldofworkchat
@theWOWpodcast just coming across #WorldofWorkChat! A3) All too often, I don't think we ask folks enough "how are you doing? what could make you more satisfied?" The power of asking simple questions has surprising power with wellbeing at work.

Totally agree! I think 'tailored' approaches is what is key - every organisation is different, we should be avoiding the one size fits all approach #worldofworkchat
A3 - All organisations are different, it’s difficult to produce fixed guidelines for this but open communication with a clear insight into the individuals and their organisation is key. Denial of there being any problem in the first place can be a barrier #WorldofWorkChat
