@TheSuperAmanda I've been reading all these comments judging the mother in the movie for her mistakes and it's like WOW. We still as a culture expect women and especially mothers to be perfect all the time. I think you will love it.

@TheSuperAmanda Yes. In this film it's literal but also metaphorical and absurd. So every mother should be able to relate (and every woman), not just mothers who have been through this specific experience. It's a film for women. So, not surprising that it's not getting best picture buzz.

@TheSuperAmanda In these other movies, the fathers maintain an aesthetic distance and they're sad because they were not involved enough in their daughters' lives. IF I HAD LEGS is about the day to day of being a mother, real but also surreal, in a partly self-induced mental horror space.

A poem I wrote today for fellow Monterey Bay swimmer, Erica Fox. I‘m not a Kelp Krawler but revere how much she loved the bay. When a picture of slain model, Dorothy Stratten came up on my feed today, I mentioned to @IanKeithMcDowel some thoughts which became the poem below.
