Five years ago, when this book came out, I got flak from certain quarters because the cover was supposedly Russophobic. (Which I’d question, for a start.) Strangely enough, since February 2022, I haven’t heard any such critiques…

Business genius... I don't follow any of these two toxic clowns. I worked for years to build a list here of the best authors, scientists and interesting people I could learn from. And now Twitter is promoting a human trafficker...

A very good candidate for 'intro of the week', by @RonCharles, author of 'you must subscribe if you love good reads' Book Club newsletter ( https://t.co/z62lsI4LZj).

The more I age, the more I’m fascinated by the world around me. These birds were so chatty in their flight! Knowing how cool birds are (they don’t need Waze), I think they were just gossiping.

Midnight in Chernobyl is an essential book. It’s so well written and researched, that it takes you there, in Pripyat’s apartments and streets, in Chernobyl’s control rooms, in the firefighters’ cars and hospital corridors, better than any documentary. https://t.co/EnFWikPNP5

On this Cyber Monday, I want to ask for your help to 'boost' the fact that all my booktalk interviews are free to read and published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license. And, yes, you can support me, but only if you find real value in my work and my mission.

Good happy Monday morning, everybody! (yeah, I'll see myself out and I'll do that to myself) :)) Here's a healthy perspective: Earth, in natural colour, posing as a watery beauty on Saturday, Nov 26th, from 1,551,665 km. away (that's 964,049 miles, you non-metric savages).

This weekend, we're playing GoT in my Eastern European family: Games of Thermostat. My mother channeled her inner Targaryen and moved the cactus in front of the controls. We're like chilly White Walkers right now, scheming to breach the great wall of thorns.

Yes, I’m the ‘product’ on https://t.co/ocnDtclmzT, but I’m a happier, more chill one. Great job so far, @noam and team!

Scrat @elonmusk chasing the nut of approval on social media - but way more disastrous to the ecosystem. And less fun. “Sad”, as his role model used to say…

Thanksgiving reading list: I nominate @mrianleslie's great recent work as book of the week, as suggested by my wife, who I see already has some pointers for me...

Thoughts & prayers for our American friends, about to gain some mass these days. Also, wisdom from uncles, political insights from cousins, parenting advice from in-laws & lots of moral support: 'when are you getting married, have kids, and a real job?' Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

My thoughts on why Twitter is hurting and why @noam's Post news has a huge chance. The most important asset of a social media company is its community. Its success is the degree of collaboration in this community. And its job is to keep it alive.

This week I'm working on the 'Best Of 2022' lists for nonfiction (nature, space, science, media, tech, history, etc.). While I tinker with the new list of photography books, here's the one from last year - evergreen, as you'll discover. https://t.co/lOmUkqFr2O
