Day 1871 #Pedal2Work Lovely start to a pleasant ride into #Melbourne CBD via the Main Yarra Trail. Sky was somewhat overcast, and the conditions felt humid, but far from cold. Brought a jacket in case there was rain on the way to work, but it looked sunnier as I got to the city.

Day 1870 #Pedal2Work (for yesterday 4.12.2025) Stunning day to ride a bicycle into #Melbourne CBD. Dropped the youngest off at school, then took the Anniversary Trail around to the Gardiners Creek Trail, then onto the Main Yarra Trail. Could have ridden more. 👍😀🚲

Day 1869 #Pedal2Work Beautiful #Melbourne morning to take a bicycle ride along the Yarra River into the CBD. Wore my jacket out of the house thinking it was going to be cold, but took it off before I even started riding. Much better riding conditions than the start of the week.

Day 1868 #Pedal2Work Cool but sunny conditions on the way to #Melbourne CBD this morning. Some wet patches on the roads and paths, but it was a welcomed change from the rains that I experienced yesterday. Looking forward to some drier conditions this week. Bike needs a clean.

Day 1867 #Pedal2Work Left at a sketchy time for the ride to #Melbourne CBD via the Main Yarra Trail as the sky was dark grey. Got caught while riding along the river, but was lucky enough to stop under a trail bridge and wait out for most of the downpour to end. 😀👍🚲

Day 1866 #Pedal2Work Had to rush into the office this morning, so I rode on the main roads on the way to #Melbourne CBD. Was able to pass many cars on the way there that were such bumper to bumper. My 35 min usual ride was done in around 20 mins. 👍😀🚲

Day 1865 #Pedal2Work (somewhat) Started by dropping the youngest off at school and then was riding the "scenic" route into #Melbourne CBD when the cold rain started bucketing down. Was lucky I was near a train station, so I abandoned the long way opting for a dry seat instead.

Day 1864 #Pedal2Work Strong headwind on the way to #Melbourne CBD this nothing, and I was feeling the 2nd day stiffness that comes from riding a bicycle for the first time or after a long break. The weird thing about the feeling is that I didn't notice it while I was riding.

Day 1863 #Pedal2Work Great to be back on the bicycle after a few weeks off. Was busy taking the youngest to school and catching up on reading comics on the tram to work, but getting on the bicycle again is an awesome alternative. Great weather today too. 👍😀🚲

Day 1862 #Pedal2Work Cool start to a quick and quiet bicycle ride to #Melbourne CBD. Not many people were on the road in their cars, and was lucky enough to get behind a quick guy on a gravel bicycle that was able to take care of most of the headwind. 😀👍🚲

Day 1861 #Pedal2Work Cool start to the ride to #Melbourne CBD via the Main Yarra Trail, but the ride was comfortable in a short amount of time. Was able to hang on behind a road bicycle rider about half way through and maintain a good pace. Hoping for more tshirt riding weather.

Day 1860 #Pedal2Work Cool start of the day while riding into #Melbourne CBD via the Main Yarra Trail. Saw a few other people riding their bicycles along the trail too, and thankfully there weren't that many cars out and about the time I was riding so it felt very safe to ride.

Thank you, drivers of Sutton Coldfield. Two working days of cycling without a close pass. In fact it's been ten days since I reported anyone. I have an extra hour a day of useable time. The word is out. Pass cyclists at more than 1.5m and you don't face police action.

It's impressive how quickly Paris has transformed car-dominant roads, prioritising more efficient modes of transportation. One lane for drivers on the right side, made to wallow in their own stop-and-start inefficiency, two giant lanes for bikes.

Day 1857 #Pedal2Work Felt cool in the morning before my ride to #Melbourne CBD, so made the choice to wear a jacket. I've made the same mistake this week. A few minutes in and it was very warm to ride. Couldn't be bothered stopping to take the jacket off. Oh well... 👍😀🚲

Day 1856 #Pedal2Work A pleasant ride to #Melbourne CBD along the main Yarra Trail. Was a little cool to start with, so took off wearing a jacket, and by the time it was too warm for the jacket, I was not far for the office - so just rode in the rest of the way. 🚲👍😀

Day 1855 #Pedal2Work Cool start to a pleasant ride into #Melbourne CBD this morning. Not much of a headwind, but the temperature was less than expected. Some wet paths and roads were encountered, but nothing that caused problems. Hoping to dodge the rain on the way home tonight.
