Passing of the Sports Bill in Parliament is the biggest disservice done by @mansukhmandviya ji to not only Indian sports but more importantly its sportspersons as it completely dumps all the well meaning reforms which were implemented &accepted by one & all in the sports sector.

And I am told sportspersons don’t make good administrators. Problem is not with sportspersons but the system. If they are fiercely independent, have a spine, are honest & selfless with their heart beating for the right cause then they shall excel. Hope my namesake here does 🇮🇳.

Not a word, forget section, discussed, deliberated, debated or decided.; yet passed. Not a single section worth mentioning in a speech spanning 12 minutes on the floor of the lower house by the Minister. Zero accountability, total opaqueness, anti sportspersons is SportsBill.

This Bill allegedly has been brought under pressure of the entrenched &powerful sports bosses so as to insulate them fm much needed &long awaited reform process ushered in through landmark judgments which is why SportsMin couldn’t refer to even a single well meaning clause in it?.

With all due respect Sir, today shall forever be remembered as black day in Indian sports as you hv successfully ensured to protect unending tenures of the conflicted & entrenched federation bosses by passing a draconian, regressive, opaque, unaccountable & anti sportsperson Bill.
