Listening to @m_giacchino's "Fantastic Four" score. Bloody hell. It's been a while since I've heard anything as big, exciting, and rousing as that. My nose went quite tingly with emotion. Pick up the baton, composers. You've been slacking and you need to catch him up.

For anyone doing Superman vs Fantastic Four, this is what they should be embracing this July. Everybody wins.

How is it none of the new 2025 "@Superman" Krypto action figures. are jointed? I mean, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer, but. no. Whether it's @mcfarlanetoys, @hottoysofficial, @BandaiCollect. whatever. They're all solid slab, non-posable toys, like you had when you were 5.

Watched Robert Zemeckis' "Here". Didn't love it, but did like it. One locked camera position, jumping back and forth in time with multiple families. Sobering (and upsetting) reminder of how finite our spans are. Felt like a night at the theater, with a gah-zillion bucks of VFX.

I love that a 14 year old girl - Elsie from Eastbourne - won a competition to design the BBFC ratings card that's shown before all the British showings of @Superman.

Finally picked up some mail from a neighbour, and with it my (beautifully packaged) Hellboy art print(s!) from Laurence Campbell that I thought had gone astray. Thanks, Laurence! I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. Plus I now have a Campbell original, which is even better! :)

I'm chuckling, reading everybody gushing over @corenswet. Back in 2020, before #SupermanMovie was even a glimmer of a thing, I predicted he'd be perfect in the role. Man, I'm good.

Cheap electric guitars on the score, and jarring Crabjoys song early in the End Credits are huge mistakes. Didn't have a problem with the Jor El revelation, but didn't need Drunk Cabo Supergirl. (Really? This is to inspire little girls?). Hoping "Fantastic Four" saves Summer.

Hoult, like Eisenberg, is another Luthor without gravitas, and the scene of Luthor sadistically shooting a helpless person through the head was so misjudged, you felt the stunned audience around you actively hate the movie (not Luthor) for the next 90 seconds.

Corenswet's fine. Ms Teschmacher likeable. Good Perry White. That being said. everything that made Gunn perfect for "Suicide Squad" works against him here. It’s fine having a "voice" but I don’t want a "#Superman" with characters repeatedly saying "shit", "piss", and "asshole".

Love the #Superman Robots. BEST Fortress of Solitude, EVER. Absorbing Man's great. Guy Gardner works well. I wish Mister Terrific’s diction was a bit more. Terrific. Brosnahan might be the best Lois Lane ever. Jimmy Olsen was great (needed to be a redhead).

Back from #Superman. Went in my Superman shirt. Left subdued, and dispirited. Krypto’s awesome in every scene. (I was concerned he'd ruin the film, but he’s the best thing in it and I almost teared-up once or twice). Enjoyed the Peacemaker Cameo. Loved the Pocket Dimension.

I'm feelin' that Kirby Crackle, and the urge to punch out some Nazis!.
