I really, really hope we’re not sacrificing long term goals by benching Queen & Fears for the likes of Deandre, Dejounte, and Poole lately. My take has always been play the rookies heavy minutes and let them figure it out on the court, but some think the benching is beneficial.
Minutes played in their last 2 games: DeAndre Jordan - 22, 31 Derik Queen - 18, 21 The Pelicans traded this year's 1st Round Pick (currently projected #5) to trade up for Queen last year.

This is encouraging. A lot of people are rightfully concerned about Fears and Queen moving to the bench affecting the long term development of their games, as we’ve mortgaged a lot to draft these two players. Hopefully this has an overall positive impact.
One worry about Fears coming out of college was his lack of assists and being turnover prone. In his last 5 games off the bench he has a 5 to 2 assist to Turnover ratio. GS- 5 AST, 2 TO PHI- 6 AST, 2 TO MIL- 5 AST, 3 TO MIA- 8 AST, 1 TO SAC- 3 AST, 3 TO Progress

This is the right way to take the latest Dejounte tweets. I agree with everything here. Most of the outcomes from this situation are positive.
Dejounte Murray has cleared the air. Go to YouTube for my reaction to his comments and my thoughts on Zion taking his shots against the Warriors. 🔗: https://t.co/EXWn5meoNc

I assumed this to be true. Either way, Dejounte is doing a nice PR move for him regardless if he’s traded or not. If he stays, he’s a player that gave it his all no matter the win and losses. If he leaves, his stock value will be somewhat higher from his playing time.
LETS CLEAR THE AIR CAUSE FUCK A SOURCE… Me Or My Agent Never Requested A Trade Out Of NEW ORLEANS!!!! Joe And The Whole Organization Know I Was Locked In To Come Back Better Than Ever To Help Make This Play In Push And Whatever Comes After That!! 😂😅 It’s Bouts To Get Fun!! 🍿

Murray played well last night. He still requested a trade before the deadline this year, and his agent is Rich Paul. I can’t see him here next year.

It’ll be tough to once again read about the Pelicans being a “farming franchise” if we move on from Trey, Herb, Zion and watch them kill it these next few seasons. But that feels like a necessary step, at least that’s what we’re being fed right now.

What do you do moving forward? Keep these pieces that will get expensive? Move on from the most talented guy on the roster in Zion? Trade these guys and just turn the other way when they help lead their new respective teams to wins and playoffs?

Pelicans are in such a weird position. It seems like every single person loves Bey, Jones, and Murphy while also recognizing the promise of Queen and Fears. Yet everyone absolutely despised this front office right now and we have the third worst record in the league.

Poole doesn’t even get garbage minutes. He’s in the biggest dog house I’ve ever seen.

Yves Missi is a great defender, imo. The other team just doesn’t care about his offense. Kings aren’t guarding him.
