Wiser generations knew that not only could kids handle dark/spooky things, it was actually essential for their development. The sanitizing of modern fantasy into its current HR-friendly form is a travesty with consequences weβve not yet fully realized.
My favorite part of Masters of the Universe is at a bunch of people got together and agreed this would be the best aesthetic with which to sell toys to 6-year-olds.
