Still up thinking about all of the ways the Mavericks could open up that roster spot for Dante Exum. Very intrigued to hear what it will be.

We are literally going to have that entire 2020 championship winning Lakers staff. Feel great about the defense. Offense might be a little sketchy.

Getting Phil Handy would be excellent for the Mavericks. Even though they lost good coaches, they are bringing in great names.

Source: The Dennis Schröder signing will be a sign-and-trade between the Pistons and Kings. That will allow the Pistons to take back up to $22.6 million, or will generate a player exception worth $14.3 million if they don’t take a player back. Either way, they gain flexibility.

I really hope @JaredDudley619 is back on the Mavericks. If not, it’s obviously great for his already bright coaching career. But man, I love him in Dallas.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Luka repairs his value to the point they are interested in a long term deal to keep them together. It’s his make or break year in the league.

It’s actually such a good signing for the price. Even if he ends up being terrible, it’s such a cheap swing. Pair a talented, toolsy big with Luka Doncic and it’s more likely than not that magic will occur.

This gives Dallas 16 fully guaranteed standard contracts, meaning someone eventually will have to go. Most likely means trading Prosper, but I also wonder about the market for Powell, particularly center-challenged Indiana and a certain coach who loved coaching Powell.

Their salary still won’t work until they find something. Kinda sounds like this might be a drawn out process.

With teams afforded 21 roster spots in the offseason, Dallas does not need an immediate trade to make roster room to bring back Dante Exum, who league sources say has agreed to a deal today to become the Mavericks’ 16th standard NBA contract.

Dante Exum is a wonderful ball player. Mavericks are able to sign him for a minimum because the injury concerns are so great, but if you can get a decent amount of games from him. He’s a steal. Great defender, fantastic shooter, good decision maker and passer. Love it.

Deal would put them over the hard cap and they don’t have the roster space I believe. Has to be a move coming.

I would assume we get a trade notification soon. One of Hardy or Omax probably dumped. Let’s hope it didn’t take draft capital.

Will always look back fondly on Spencer’s time with the Mavericks. Wouldn’t be shocked if he returns for an another stint one day. He was often asked to do more than he was capable of here and multiple times he rose up to the occasion. Thanks for the memories, smoothie king.
