Today was my graduation ceremony for my PhD in medical research. I felt strange celebrating when I know millions of girls have this right taken away from them in AFG. I wore this traditional dress to honour them for their resistance and perseverance.
Oh, &
#StopHazaraGenocide
This is

traditional clothes. It has been passed through generations. The colourful Hazaragi dresses are from my culture!
The long black hijab attire doesn’t represent all women of Afghanistan.
We shall never let them colonise our culture and identity again.
A page from Marzia’s diary “Electricity is not an excuse. I have to continue with my studies and I have to prove that I’m not a coward. This is not a difficult job, I am stronger than this. Marzia can do it. I believe [in] her from the bottom of my heart.”

The success of
#StopHazaraGenocide
campaign will bring peace, prosperity and freedom to all people of Afghanistan.
Justice and Freedom are two of the core values of this campaign.
One of my favourite pictures from today. This little noorband has stolen my heart completely.
Walking with so much confidence & courage in front of 100s of protestors. An epitome of a Hazara girl.
#StopHazaraGenocide
It gives me so much pleasure seeing so many people (Hazaras and non-Hazaras) celebrating
#HazaraCultureDay
Here is a picture of my beautiful mother & sisters in their tradition Hazaragi dresses called ‘Du-Daamina’ meaning two-skirts.
Have a blessed day everybody! 💕🌸
This vintage waskat was made by my late grandmother. Although traditionally worn by older women, I think this type of waskat is beautiful and we should bring it back to be worn by everyone!
Would love to see pictures of other girls wearing their Hazaragi waskat!

My little sister’s graduation - she is officially a doctor now. I’m so proud of what she has accomplished & more proud of the person she has become.
I cannot wait to see more of her achievements & the impact she will have in this world. (2nd Dr in the family but more to come…)
#StopHazaraGenocide
campaign is clear. It has no political agenda. It’s not a fight for power. Its not an armed initiative. It’s a peaceful protest and demand to stop the genocide against a persecuted community who have suffered for too long.
I was in a TV interview with Fahim Dashty last week. He said the NRF is in a win-win situation. If they win against terrorism it’s win if not they will leave this earth trying & he saw that as a win too.
I am heartbroken to hear we lost him today. A true martyr died for freedom
Eid outfit.
Showing off Hazaragi hand embroidery!
P.s. this style clothing is traditionally worn by men. It’s so light and comfortable - so, should be worn by everyone.
#StopHazaraGenocide
#StopHazaraGenocide
is a campaign to ask the International community to recognise Hazaras as a vulnerable group in AFG & to help put an end to their century long suffering.
We must recognise Hazara genocide in 1890s, 1990s & must take action to stop the ongoing Hazara Genocide
I know how much we are all hurting. I know how traumatised we all are.
We must stay strong. We must not lose hope. We must continue to fight to

Today, I am so pleased that this drug is the first in the world for pregnancy to get fast track approval for development
Salima Mazari - former governor of Charkint who fought the Taliban at the front line. A Hazara woman. A Hazara leader. An inspiration to women across the world.

It’s 5am (yet to sleep) but I am energised by this collective effort to end Hazara Genocide.
Keep going!!
Also 70+ cities will hold demonstration for this campaign in the next several days ❤️
When
@WHCOrg
first called out for a worldwide demonstration to
#StopHazaraGenocide
- never did I imagine we would have ~100 cities organising protests to end Hazara Genocide.
Thank you all. It’s a long fight but we shall not stop until we see a free Afghanistan.
Last year, I spoke about the persecution of Hazaras at the
#FoRB
ministerial in London.
Although very brief but, should give some clarity on Hazara Genocide in Afghanistan.

This is Marzia & Hajar. Both were killed on Friday when Kaaj Education centre was attacked in Kabul.
Their diaries were found & both had a dream to visit Eiffel Tower.

Hazara Genocide has not only been physical but also cultural, language, identity…
So, as part of the artistic challenge, here is a video of my mom (

This is the nawha I’ve been waiting for
“Our Karbala is Dehmazang, Kaaj and Kawsar (locations where 100s of Hazaras were killed from targeted attacks)…. The blood of Hajr & Marzia (victims of Kaaj attack) is running”.
#StopHazaraGenocide
Taliban killed two children and injured 15 in an open fire yesterday during an Ashura procession.
Their crackdown of religious freedom is taking lives.
I am requesting you all to tweet with the hashtag
#StopHazaraGenocide
to educate and raise awareness. There are too many tweets negatively impacting the campaign. It’s hard to find information and navigate through the hashtag with all the useless tweets.
Link articles, books…
As Hazara activists, we receive abuse, racist remarks, personal attacks on daily basis. Not just on social media but also in meetings. Not just by “nobodies” but also by prominent figures.
Our fight to
#StopHazaraGenocide
is long. We have to clean century long prejudice.
Today, we will tweet with the hashtag
#StopHazaraGenocide
to continue to raise awareness about the ongoing Hazara Genocide in Afghanistan.
Where will you be joining us from?
Wearing my Hazaragi scarf in a traditional Tajik restaurant with a Tajik hat borrowed from a Turkmani.
Tajikistan is the only country (apart from Afghanistan) that I have felt connection to. I absolutely love speaking Farsi here!
I can’t bring myself to write anything about todays attack on Hazara students in Kabul.
Why is the world watching a genocide being committed while doing nothing?
#StopHazaraGenocide
Kuchi Pashtuns have been destroying homes of Hazaras across Afghanistan. Not only do they destroy their livestock but also their belongings such as their cars.
This is part of forced displacements & the plan to change geography of AFG.
#StopHazaraGenocide
If you’re denying the identity of todays victims, you’re part of the problem.
It was a genocidal attack against the Hazara community.
Don’t talk about it if you’re censoring their identity.
#StopHazaraGenocide
It’s an honour to be elected as the head of planning & strategy for
@WHCOrg
.
It’s with pleasure to say more than 50% of the committee members are women. This shows our value & commitment. This is also a slap to Taliban who are trying to eliminate women from the society in AFG.
At least three attacks today in
#Hazara
populated area of west of
#Kabul
(Dasht-e-barchi) targeting schools and educational institutions.
Violence against the Hazara community has increased significantly since the Taliban takeover.

13,500 Refugees from more than 40 countries are in Indonesia & 7,500 of them are from Afghanistan. Around 3,300 of them are still Asylum seekers & have been waiting for their Refugee status determination interview by UNCHR. Their futures are uncertain.

At times like this, let’s be kind to each other. Call your Hazara friends to check up on them
& let’s continue to fight for justice and

I have said this before and I’m saying it again.
Please use the

Sayed Askar Mousavi, a Hazara scholar, Historian & researcher is one of the brightest minds of Afghanistan. His book “The Hazaras of Afghanistan” is a well-written document of the history of Hazaras in the country. Highly recommend everyone to read this book

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the color orange 🧡 is used to represent a brighter future, free from violence against women and girls.
Let’s all join the UNiTE campaign to end violence against women & girls.
Thread 🪡 how to make

campaign as successful as possible:
During the protests, ask your participants to take their phones out, go on Twitter and tweet with the hashtag

every 15 minutes. Tweets pictures/videos from the protests.
Can we really look him in the eye and tell him that he may never be free? That he may spend his childhood, adolescent and potentially his adulthood in these “camps”? That he can never dream of a future?
His crimes? He’s a refugee in Indonesia.

The Hazaras have always and will always stand in solidarity with the Sikhs of Afghanistan.
We understand your pain and suffering. Afghanistan and the people of Afghanistan failed you.

In Britain, we have a Christian King, a Hindu Prime Minister, a Muslim Mayor of London & a Jewish Home Secretary. In Afghanistan, native communities are getting killed for their religious & ethnic identity.
#StopHazaraGenocide
Today marks 7yrs since the attack against Hazaras in Deh Mazang Kabul. A twin bombing at the heart of a peaceful protest killing & injuring 100s of Hazaras.
These targeted attacks against the community has continued & no perpetrator has been held accountable.
#StopHazaraGenocide
A non-hazara tried to convince me that it would be in the interest of national unity if we didn’t speak about
#hazaragenocide
because it’s inciting hate... wouldn’t it be in the interest of national unity if as a Pashtun you stood in solidarity with your
#hazara
hanwatans?
I am numb… I can’t feel anything. I can’t process anything. I can’t think. I can’t work.
How do you even come to accept all these tragedies? All these atrocities keep happening and the entire world is completely ignoring it.
#StopHazaraGenocide
When we look at the list of girls who were kicked out of universities, we can see that they’re all Hazara.
When we look at the girls who were poisoned, we can see they’re all Hazara.
When we look at the 3 girls who died due to poisoning, they’re all Hazara.

This is Halima, a Hazara woman, who was murdered mercilessly in Bamyan while she went out to a shop.

Here, they report that Taliban killed 15,000 Hazaras in Mazar-i-Sharif during their Aug 1998 Genocidal campaign against the community. This is one of the worst massacres in the history of Afghanistan.

Being a Hazara means having to explain to your baby sister why you have been crying all day.
Going through the pain of explaining how Hazara children are being massacred for being Hazara.

Today marks 40th Day since the genocidal attack on Kaaj Education centre killing 54 & injuring 115.
Hazaras continue to suffer and the world continues to stay silent.

Taliban have started to dumb the bodies of Hazara children in large containers.
They have stopped blood donors from entering hospitals and does not allow them to donate blood.
We must work to protect the Hazaras and stop the ongoing Hazara genocide.
