My daddy you are???
For all those wondering, this is my son Yoda. We share no blood but he is my life. He came from Dagobah (legally, of course) six years ago and lives with me in Malibu.
I am so proud of him and raising him has been the best, most rewarding thing I’ve done in my life.

Almost 50 years ago Carrol was working with Jim on Oscar’s voice in the small Muppets Studio on 53rd Street and 2nd ave in NYC. But it was Big Bird who grew into being the character most emblematic of Sesame Street. And Carrol’s spirit made that happen. What an amazing legacy.

First of all there’s no “boy stuff” or “girl stuff”. It’s all just “stuff”. You can wear whatever stuff that you and your mom want. I mean, Yoda wears a necklace. I’ve never heard anyone make fun of him for wearing “Girl Stuff”. You just be who you are.

Harry Belafonte. The Muppet Show. Jim loved working with him. We all did. That show took on such a different texture from our other shows because of Harry's contributions. We all wanted to make it right for him. It was an honor and a privilege to work with such a rare human.

Saw WON’T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR. So touching and powerful with a simple searing message. I never met Fred Rogers, but Jim did and liked him. They both had that strong, silent will. They had similar messages, but expressed them in different ways. Be nice to have them both around now

On TV in the ‘50’s & 60’s the Muppets sold bread, coffee, toilet paper, fabric finish, dog food, cheese snacks, gasoline, and more to pay the bills. Once Sesame Street began in 1969 we stopped making commercials. Jim did not want to take advantage of his new audience.

I learned much from Irvin Kershner, director of “Empire.” Kersh said when filming a story logic often takes 2nd place. When the Millennium Falcon was in trouble and steam was bursting into the damaged ship, he said no one questioned steam in a space ship. Logic: 2nd place.

In 1964 Muppets Inc.was housed in a one flight walk up on East 53rd street/NYC in two small rooms of a railroad flat on top of a restaurant/bar.
Jim and Jerry Juhl worked in one room and Don Sahlin made the Muppets in the other small workshop/room. That's The Muppets inside me.

I just saw a preview of Pete Docter's finest work, SOUL. I'm told Quest Love said that it's a movie for adults that kids will enjoy too. He's so right. Usually it's the other way around. I'll need to see it 2 or 3 more times to grasp all that is there. SOUL is stunning.

TIMEPIECE, Jim’s short film, was nominated for an Academy award in 1965. Four other films were in the same category. One was a French short called “Le Poulet”. Jim and I both loved it. Instead of voting for his own film he voted for it. That was Jim. (It won the Oscar).

It just doesn't make sense to me that Congressmen/women and Senators who sit in safety in the capital have better health care opportunities than deserving vets who have spent two years in war zones. Can anyone explain to me the sense of that?
