Definitely a one-off. Just got too much air…4.45 hangtime. Crimmins averaged 44.9 YPA w/ a 3.87 average hangtime last season at Purdue. For context, Hugh Robertson last season: 40.8 YPA and 3.59. Blake Hayes’ senior season: 44.8 YPA and 3.70.
@TheFieldPass The Keelan Crimmins punt was just a one-off right?.

Heckel’s versatility is very similar to Xavier’s…having two guys like that is a huge asset. I trust the staff to figure out who they prefer outside and whether they want Heckel on the field no matter where or lean on X to shore things up at corner. Could definitely see the.
@TheFieldPass When Juice Clarke return can we expect him to take the second CB spot and/or see Xavier kick outside and let Tanner Heckel get some snaps at slot CB?. Kaleb Patterson getting cooked like THAT by WIU WRs was not my bingo card.

Feeling WAY better about the interior DL after that game. Most impressed by Tomiwa. He made play after play after play. Saw some really good stuff from JTJ, Hunt, and Neal. Even McCullom looks ready to contribute. Edge is the known commodity. Jacas looks like a Day 1 NFL guy.
@TheFieldPass I'm overreacting to what I saw from Gabe, Ca'lil, and Bowick. 16-0. What were your DL impressions?.

Beatty is an ideal #2, but he’s likely this year’s #1 due to consistency and reps with Luke. Bowick looks like he’s gonna be a dude, but enough guys got snaps that there’s still plenty to shake out. Probably won’t have a clearer picture until about Week 4. Depth is solid though.
@TheFieldPass Biggest question mark coming into the season was the WRs. How are we feeling after game one?.

Hanky House Calls was definitely thinking about this tweet at about the 10 yd line
Illinois has the longest active drought among all 134 FBS teams without a kick or punt return TD. V’Angelo Bentley’s 67-yd punt return TD vs. Ohio State was our last on 11/16/2013. The next closest? Buffalo, last scoring on a punt return during the 2015 season.
