Thank you Senator @elenaparent for your leadership and service! We have been proud to call you our senator and wish you the best in your next chapter. đź’™
Another surprise at the State Capitol. Democratic State Senator Elena Parent announces her retirement. Parent is not running for another office this year. Democratic State Representative Saira Draper is now qualifying for Parent’s seat in the Senate. #gapol @elenaparent

NEW: Georgia removed nearly 471,000 voters from its rolls last summer — roughly 6% of all the state’s registered voters. Now voting rights groups are suing, arguing the state is illegally hiding records about how the purge was carried out. https://t.co/RQ8RnIUzik

Without full access to the records, plaintiffs say they cannot determine whether eligible voters were wrongly removed.

All Congressmen are provided voting cards. Once you sponsor legislation to provide every Georgian with the necessary documents to vote, then you can throw your fit. 21 million Americans don’t have the required documents under the Act. It’s clear you just don’t want them to vote.
213 House Democrats swiped their congressional voting cards to prove their identity and voted against the SAVE America Act, which would require voters to prove their identity. The height of hypocrisy.

Just as house republicans pass the SAVE act. It’s like they don’t want people getting passports in order to register to vote. Read: State Department orders nonprofit libraries to stop processing passport applications https://t.co/nTZFoIXjuW

Picture this: it’s October 3, 2026 – one month before Election Day. The MEGA Act passed. You’re kicked off the voter rolls. You try to re-register so you can vote, but run into problems: 1. due to the SAVE Act, you need a specific gov't document – there’s no time to get one 2.
The DOJ plans to analyze states’ voter files and then tell states which voters to remove. (Brennan Center)

This is not the law. The OCGA says that going to a university does not automatically affect your residency. If you register to vote in your home county (eg Cherokee), and want to vote there, your being an Emory student with a DeKalb apt won’t make you a non-resident of Cherokee.
Are students prone to double voting? This is Emory University where 1,200 students use their dorm to register to vote from The issue? 304 don't have their MANDATORY corresponding Mail Stop Code (Dorm #) And some have been registered here for over a decade Georgia law is

This is pure fear-mongering. Double voting is extremely rare, and Georgia like every other state has multiple precautions in place to stop it. These lies are the pretext for restrictions on our voting rights, and we will not stand idly by to watch it happen. 3/3 #gapol

It does NOT say that college students cannot declare their intent to make Georgia their current residence, by registering to vote for example. Stooge #1 then claimed that because some students forgot to put their dorm number they might be double voting? 2/3

The three stooges are back at it again. The Supreme Court ruled in 1979 that college students have a right to change their registration just like any other citizen. The part of OCGA that Stooge #2 mentioned just says that mere physical presence doesn’t make you a resident. 1/3
