Dedicated sci-fi/ fantasy author. I'm out to promote great stories and improve our standards. Big Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect, BSG, Farscape, and LOTR fan

Battlestar Galactica 2004 is still the greatest show ever made to me. I've yet to find anything else with writing, acting, music, direction, and deeper themes that come close to it. We had no idea how good we had it 20 years ago.

It still frustrates me how Alone in the Dark 2024 went completely under the radar, which led to its studio getting shut down. It may not be perfect, but it's a genuinely good survival horror game that better honors Silent hill's legacy than anything Koanmi's done today.

There is no other way of watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy than the Extended Editions.
The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions add over two hours of story and character depth Extra scenes expand Faramir, Boromir, and the politics of Rohan and Gondor. Many fans consider the Extended Cuts the definitive version of the trilogy. https://t.co/HP7vLE7sEG

Ripley was actually written unisex, as in any man or woman could have filled the role. Still, I'm glad it went to Sigourney Weaver, and that Ripley exemplifies how to write a tough woman who still has feminine sensibilities deep down and can believably command a scene.
Sigourney Weaver in Alien (1979) redefined the sci-fi hero. Ripley was first written as a man, but her screen test proved no one could command a frame like her. That mix of steel and vulnerability changed the genre forever.

This one moment is scarier than any half-baked Xenomorph mutation every other Alien story has pumped out since, especially anything from Alien Earth. Alien Isolation is still a masterpiece.

There isn't a single COD, Battlefield, or Fortnite clone with shooting mechanics as satisfying or visceral as FEAR back in 2005. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking older games aren't worth playing or fighting for.

I highly recommend people check out Halo 3: Combat Evolved, an actually faifthful remake of Halo CE using Halo 3 ODST's engine that's currently in development.

Robert E Howard is a quintessential American author as much as Twain. The father of Sword & Sorcery Right now the REH house/museum is in danger of collapse and in need of repairs I doubt the NPS will fund it but I ask @elonmusk to kindly retweet and shine a light on this 🔗⬇️

We desperately need more games like No One Lives Forever today, the kind that prioritize fun over "muh realism."

A musical goddess, if there ever was one. There's no question that Kingdom Hearts owes a large part of its success to her, giving it some of the greatest music ever put in a video game.
Today is Yoko Shimomura’s (@midiplex) birthday! The Legendary Composer behind music from Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV, Street Fighter 2, Live A Live, Mario RPG and many more! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Shimomura-san! 🔥✨🎂

Lord of the Rings already holds up better than Game of Thrones (both the books and the show), and will continue to for generations. In the end, people like hopeful, inspiration tales more than brooding edgelord dark fantasy that still has no ending.
Liking Game of Thrones more than Lord of the Rings is a signal of ignorance or a spirit that is sick and in need of healing

Bloober's SH2 completely butchered this scene: the dull lighting that no longer gives Maria a creepy aura, the flat cinematography that doesn't frame James like he's behind bars, and the lame voice direction that doesn't have Maria switch personas or show James confusion.

Today's the 20th Anniversary for F.E.A.R., one of the greats action horror FPS games ever made and one of the best games I've ever played. Rest in Peace, Monolith.

Besaid (FFX) is my favorite game track ever. It's subtly complex. It lulls you into a daze with constants, but varies them in subtle ways (strings, drums, synth) to breathe new life. It is a song that can never be truly remade. Like the ocean, it just undulates. Forever.
