Thanks for the share @olicav I have been concerned for some time that 'cognitive science' as it is currently translated, is incredibly crude and reductive. @GuyClaxton has been pigeon holed. This blog, in my opinion, shows why he should be listened to.

The power of ‘the personal response’. We should not underestimate the importance of creating opportunities for students to respond to texts with THEIR thoughts and feelings as worthy activities that show genuine engagement with texts (at all ages!) Y7 ‘The Bone Sparrow’ here.
