If President Trump came out in favor of high-speed rail, Republicans in Congress and at the state level would rally to build this overnight. This would completely own the libs.

This is a huge mistake for the US to make. Infrastructure is fundamental; decisions should be made on a practical, not ideological basis. Your children and grandchildren, especially the majority of them who will live in cities, will pay dearly for this. https://t.co/jK9WlN54La

There is no objective case against (de)congestion pricing in NYC. There is a political case - wealthy people drive in Manhattan more than the rest of the population does. Know what bothers this administration the most? This program is working.

The problem with projects like this is they increase traffic capacity and volume from distant suburbs and exurbs to core cities beyond the capacity of those cities to accommodate. So they increase traffic and increase congestion while subsidizing sprawl. https://t.co/QJfEvufpGJ

Measures to "reduce congestion" lead to increased traffic, resulting in higher, more widespread congestion. The "alternative routes" concept is flawed because it tends to result in higher VMT per trip, thereby increasing fuel consumption and emissions. https://t.co/Lq1uGb91QP

Interesting watching state DOTs claiming to be the "first state in ____" [some expensive high-tech thing] as they compete to provide a facility or service no ordinary commuter wants or would use.
