This is insane: today the Caproni Ca.3 replica, the world’s only WWI bomber in flight conditions, flew in formation with an

F-35B over Istrana (the HH.101 you can see was carrying the ItAF photographers).
So, the first B-21 is named Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guards the gates of the Underworld to prevent the dead from leaving. Let’s guess the next one (must be Greek mythology creature - probably - like Chimera, Medusa, Hydra, Minotaur, Scylla, etc)
This clip shows all the movements of the throttle and stick in a fighter jet (in this case an F-5F of the VFC-111 “Sun Downers”) during formation flying through the clouds. The footage is shot from the backseat You can read more about VFC-111 here:
You may have seen this already, but this video showing a tactical nuclear weapon delivery by an F-104 Starfighter during a test most probably dating back to the end of 1950s - early 1960s deserves a comment.
The one featured in the video appears to be a B43, a variable yield…
This photo is iconic. On this day, 35 years ago, Assistant Secretary of Defense J. Daniel Howard displayed a grainy photograph at a Pentagon press conference, unveiling for the first time the shape of the F-117A, the stealth jet that had been secretly flying for 7 years already.…
A new photo just received from a U-2 Dragon Lady pilot wearing The Aviationist’s patch during a mission at +70K feet to wish all our followers and readers a Happy New Year!!!
This video gives you an idea of how close the ski-jump of the aircraft carrier is when the Harrier starts its very short take off roll.

Vertical landing on ITS Cavour from my privileged point of view in the backseat of the

TAV-8B, the last airworthy two seater Harrier of the Marina Militare.
Take a look at this stunning composition made by our contributor Christopher McGreevy at Star Wars canyon. Fortunately, there are some F-16s that are not painted grey...
This is something you don’t see every day: two

F/A-18Fs with VFA-213 and one F/A-18E with VFA-86 from USS Gerald Ford in formation with

AV-8B Harrier. I shot this from the Italian Navy TAV-8B while breaking to return to Grottaglie at the end of the ADEX…
This is quite interesting: some weird (kill?) markings were spotted on one of the F-16s of the 31st Fighter Wing (
#87
-0350) operating from Istrana during Poggio Dart 23. Bird strikes?
This is how you land in a Harrier: you can also use the “reverse gear” if needed to touch the runway on the right spot! In this clip we were landing at Grottaglie airbase at the end of our very long mission..
@ItalianNavy
Vertical landing of a TAV-8B on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier can be quite smooth.
This was shot from the cockpit of a single seat Harrier already on the deck and BTW I was sitting on the backseat of the TAV-8B.

First of many clips I filmed from the backseat of the last airworthy TAV-8B of the Italian Navy. This is one of my four launches from the ski jump of ITS Cavour during a record breaking (for a journo) 5.5-hour mission with the Harriers of Marina Militare.
Incredible clip showing how landing a B-29 bomber looks like from inside the cockpit. You can find much more images, videos and details about this flight and “Fifi”, one of the only two flying B-29s, in the fantastic story by
