One day I’m going to write a book called something dumb like . K is for Contracts. It will be a cathartic lamenting of everything that’s unnecessarily confusing about the practice of law. You’re all welcome to contribute.

Realizing I need to update the cross-saved version in another folder after it took me like 5 tries to get a typo-free to the client

You know the adage “a watched pot never boils”? . Do we have one yet about how you never spot the typos until you convert to pdf? 😒.

Reading a firm’s profile on an award site that was ranked number one in “IP: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets” and half the commentary relates to their patent practice……. 🙄.

You know working in law firm marketing has rewired your brain when you watch #WhiteLotus and think to yourself, “a tax attorney should totally write a blog about what would happen if Belinda accepted Greg/Gary’s hush money”.

Just made a note on a lawyer’s article, “Syntactically vague — does the injunction apply to these parties or not? Please clarify.” and then it was a direct quote from a judge 🫢.

Even with advancements in RAG and other technologies meant to improve accuracy, it fills me with existential dread to think about how many people seem to want to ask a magic AI machine a question and would be totally willing to accept its response.

I still maintain that relying on generative AI (like ChatGPT) to provide you with information is a pretty terrible idea. While what it spits out may sound plausible or believable, it sometimes gets things wrong. It’s just not a good use case.

So I’m just saying, that as someone who regularly encounters cereals that contain strawberries, I probably wouldn’t market a plain cereal with any imagery that suggested the product contained strawberries. But that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Can you really say—at a glance—that the picture of the cereal that does not contain strawberries really looks that different from the picture of the cereal that includes strawberries?

Seeing lots of people drunk on this case. While I’m not going to comment on the legal merits of the case, as a marketing professional and a consumer, I actually *don’t* think it’s a great practice for cereals to depict themselves with added fruit on their covers.

Kellogg’s is being sued in a false advertising class action in California. Consumers say the Corn Flakes box misled them into thinking the cereal contained strawberries:
