The distribution of resourceTypes in @DataCite continues to evolve. A current update shows that 75% of the resources added so far during 2023 are PhysicalObjects. This is a great step forward for connecting these to past and future research.

What is in @ORCID_Org profiles and where does it come from? Data from UCAR: it's mostly published works and most gets added by publishers through @CrossrefOrg. Researchers benefit from work they already did during article submission! @UCAR_News.

I have been lucky to work with Jeff over many years and projects at OGC, NASA, GLOBE, and NOAA. He is a great idea person with the capabilities and leadership skills to get things done. Great choice #opengeospatial.
Congratulations to Dr. Jeff de La Beaujardiere, who last night received OGC's Lifetime Achievement Award! Jeff’s support of #OpenStandards and #WMS has improved access to Earth science info for countless users & decision-makers around the globe #OGC126MM

This is a great interactive tool!.
Scholarly research is complex and interconnected; change in one area can have effects throughout the ecosystem. The State of Scholarly Metadata: 2023 looks at the current state of metadata in #scholarlypublishing. Visit to interact with the study today.

What does project metadata look like in @DataCite? There are over 100,000 projects described with DataCite metadata. Current approaches in a sample of these ( shows no clear pattern and opportunities for improving project connectivity.

I will be talking about instrument identifiers at the #NISOPlus23! Remember that behind every set of observations is a set of instruments - and now we know which ones! See you there!.
Hear about the latest innovations in #PIDs in scholarly infrastructure at #NISOPlus23! Join @amandafrench @mjbuys @TedHabermann & Shawn Ross of @ARDC_AU w/ @M3LROY for a discussion of recent developments.

Ran into old friend @josephkerski teaching about GIS at @theAGU meeting. Talked about using metadata every day. Can you tell the difference between dog food and soup?

Progress towards open abstracts, critical for so many discovery tasks!.
We also reflect on broader developments around openness of metadata, discussing the increasing availability of open metadata through @CrossrefOrg and the availability of additional metadata through @OpenAlex_org @neesjanvaneck

The @ResearchOrgs interface and API work well for a small number of affiliations that need identifiers, but what if you have many organization names or affiliations? Try RORRetriever if you have a big ROR search and don’t know where to start!
