And honestly, I don’t work the full 8 hours everyday. I do my tasks, attend my meetings, touch base with my manager a couple times, but it’s really smooth. I love salary based positions and my manager doesn’t micro-manage. I am very blessed🥰

2. Excel, Excel, Power BI, Excel, Salesforce, EXCEL!
Very glad I started the Excel Udemy course when I did, because a lot of this would’ve been foreign to me, but I’m already using pivot tables, splicers, and macros. Link to the course I took is in the next tweet.

1. Majority of the company operates on EST, so as an employee on PST, I have a flexible start time which I love, anytime between 6am-9am. I choose 6:30-3 majority of time. I’ll wake up at 4, hit the gym or pilates, walk my dog as the sunrises, make breakfast, and review my tasks.

3. I had 4 meetings this week, 2 for a project I’m already working on. I cannot disclose the details, but the project is set to complete before year-end and is Sharepoint based.

4. A lot of this week was getting familiar with the systems and terminology. Some of which I knew, some terms were foreign, but I’m a fairly quick learner and I’m quick to adapt.

It’s beautiful how my tech journey is unfolding. I’m focusing on Servicenow and getting my CSA because I love SN and I’ve completed some projects. And now my current job uses Salesforce, so I also wanna learn sys admin for Salesforce too and get my company to sponsor that cert ☺️

Getting this PM role, was part 3 of my 4 part tech goal for 2022. Which is cool, but to say I'm exhausted is a huge understatement. This is a reminder to stay focused, but take breaks. Your body will make you pay for it later if you don't.

I studied on and off for 6 months, took a free Jobhackers Agile/Scrum course in January, a PSM1 course on udemy, 2 weeks of Scrum learning in the MTBF boot camp, and took 8-10 practice exams within the last 3 weeks.
I’m sure some people don’t have to do all this, but I did.

Above all though, YOU HAVE TO RESEARCH. Google every single question you have. Youtube. Find courses on Udemy. Find a professional on here, LinkedIn, etc that has the role you want and talk to them! You'd be surprised how that single conversation can boost your trajectory.

4. I do reporting on excel and Salesforce daily. I’m still working 6:30am - 3pm most days. This was a smooth week too! My manager told me today that she’s happy I’m picking up everything so quickly and she loves having me on the team 🫶🏾

2. I had 5 meetings this week. 3 of those were report training and the other 2 were for a project I’ll really start working on next week. During the 2nd project meeting, my manager had to deal with an emergency, so I hopped in and ran my first meeting 🎉
