Students can explore scientific principles using driving questions like ‘Why do I see so many squirrels but I can’t find any stegosauruses?’

My name is Katie and I endorse this tweet. Grateful when I said “I think I want to go to grad school” this guy basically said, “come to the dark side, we have cookies.”
We asked current students and alumni about people in the College of Education who made that a difference to them. Today, we are spotlighting Professor @smcdonald, director of the Krause Innovation Studio. 💙 #BeTheChange

Why are we still giving “perfect attendance” awards in schools? It’s ableist and we are in a pandemic still. Can we please come up with other ways to acknowledge students?

We need people using their platforms, their money, their power to make big change, otherwise this happens again, and again and I’m terrified that the next time will be my niece and nephews schools, my friends childrens schools- but really ANYONES school. Make it stop. 5/x

I want to see action. I want to see more than thoughts and prayers. There are clear action items (more gun laws, more access to mental health support for a start) that can stop this. We need to find schools so they can have the staff to recognize and support kids 4/x

The kids are not alright and they haven’t been. I’m a Columbine kid- a high school junior in spring of 99, friends with the kids in the trench coats. I stood on Virginia Techs pool deck coaching my 5-10 year olds while Sandy Hook was happening, devastated. 3/x

When I say we, I mean all of us. I spent this morning in an elementary school classroom of 14 kids and one teacher. The same numbers slaughtered today. It could have easily been my 15 friends I said goodbye to at the same time their peers were dying. 2/x

What are we going to do so I don’t have to keep resharing this @AJEForum series from four years ago? We started writing it in response to the 20218 Parkland shooting & a week before published, there was another rampage school shooting in Santa Fe 1/x https://t.co/EnuQvGxm6X
