SOUND ON: 911 is for life and death emergencies - not this. DRPS 911 communicators answer more than 600 calls per day and work hard to keep residents safe. Please use the non-emergency number 905-579-1520 when you do not have a life-and-death emergency.

When the Ford government can’t answer (and take action on) questions like: how much funding is needed to adequately fund #onted so EVERY student has all of the supports they need to succeed — the need for change is clear. Vote wisely in the next election, Ontario. Vote.
When many young adults can’t answer questions like: how much do I need to save for a down payment & what do I do if I’m the victim of financial fraud — the need for change is clear. Mandating financial literacy is simply not an option, it’s fundamental to Canada’s future

Dear Tim Horton’s CEO Joshua Kobza We don’t want your pizza. We don’t want salads or your take on crispy chicken… WE SIMPLY WANT THE GOOD OLD COFFEE, SIMPLE DECOR AND FRESH DONUTS IN THE BOXES WITH THE LITTLE CURTAINS Signed, mostly everyone in Canada

@BeachLoverOnt @fordnation @Sflecce Let’s see: 2 additional years of expensive education to enter a sector plagued by deep funding cuts, shrinking staff numbers, less teacher support than ever, stagnant income - and you need to prepare to be a temporary / contract teacher for say, 6 or 7 years? What’s not to love?

Introverts are not lazy, they're not interested in your idea of fun. Crowds, noise, and meaningless conversations are not their thing. They chill different. Quiet & slowed down. A cozy place, 2 people, music, food, and deep conversations. Calm over chaos. That's all.

@KKNTeachLearn I forget where I read this, so apologies to the original author, but it’s said that teaching is the only job where you have to do work before work so that you’ve got work to do at your work. You then have to work at work. Then you have to work on the work you did at work.

@Teachers__Unite Time for school staff across On to start walking out en masse together when violence has occurred - stand together in front of the building, refuse to go back in until a plan is in place to address it say nothing just stand stop Protecting the people in charge by being silent

2/2 . Want answers immediately without working through problems. Addiction and dependence on technology. This becomes a very large problem at school and in society. Technology has its place. It’s just not at the dinner table.

Went to dinner last night. A family had their one year old son on the iPad the entire time. They didn’t talk to him once. You see the fallout at school. Little to no social skills. Poor communication skills. No attention skills. No ability to play creatively 1/2

@Teachers__Unite @DirFisherTVDSB A decade of decreased spec ed funding, increased violence and no progressive discipline or supports for students = increased absences of abused employees

Introverts like loud music, but only in their headphones. Anything loud outside drives them nuts. People, parties, parades. It's just too much stimulation. 30 minutes. That's it. Can't take no more. Then they need silence to soothe their soul.

Things introverts love: - music - long walks - deep conversations - staying home all day doing nothing - movies - talking with pets - slow rainy days - books - thinking existential questions - sleeping - silence

Introverts have a side you don't wanna mess with. Trust me, their temper goes from zero to prison real fast.

@TheFrankDomenic For those of you calling teachers greedy think about this. These 2 unions don't want binding arbitration. Why? Bc binding arbitration will only solve issues related to compensation($) Other issues such as violence in schools, lack of supports and funding would then be left as is.

Why did two teachers unions vote in favour of a strike? It's because if Doug Ford gets his way, your child's education in Ontario will suffer. #onted #ontario #onpoli #dougford #ETFO #OECTA #OSSTF #CUPE #ontarioteacher #ontarioeducation #ontarioteachers #stephenlecce

@RogersHistory Schools expect teachers to treat their job as a vocation but it’s OK for them to treat the teacher as an employee. It’s the moral Inequivalence which is galling. If the teacher is just doing a job, fine: when the ‘shift’ is over, they go home and think no more about work.
