The closer you come, the harder you work for it, the more it hurts in the end when it doesn’t go ur way😔 Gave it absolutely everything I had but still needed more... Thank you for all the love and support ❤️ an honor to battle on centre court. Back to work 💪🏻 just the beginning
Fritz: "The crowd was so great cheering for me, I wanted to make sure I won."
then walks off the court without allowing Bartoli to ask more than one question.😂
I can’t speak to this specific instance because i didn’t see it. Novak doesn’t come to my mind when I think of this rule, BUT some players I can think of extend/delay grunts A LOT on big points to put you off and it needs to be called more by umpires.
The umpire just gave Jannik Sinner a point due to Novak Djokovic extending his grunt.
He called a hindrance because he believed it was a distraction while Jannik was hitting the ball.

stars try and match the random fact to their counterparts 😆
Nothing new just me getting ripped for making a joke about Novak being better then everyone, the issue with press transcripts is it’s just raw text and it’s not clear the manner in how things are said, what i jokingly said felt like a compliment to Novak more than anything else🤷🏻♂️
Taylor Fritz asked about Djokovic and the
@usopen
"It's at least good for every player if Novak is not in the draw."
This is the reason why so few players are publicly supporting him and why of course the establishment don't want him to play... the know if he plays he wins.
My favorite player growing up when I was young and I got to play dubs w him one time but I was so nervous and definitely my fault we lost...... was still cool tho
"I did not feel pain in the abdominal at all... we can find reasons or excuses, but at the end of the day, what all really matters is I need to play much better in two days after tomorrow."

🇺🇸 Taylor Fritz rises to a new career-high of
#5
today, making him the first American man to reach the Top 5 since
@andyroddick
was ranked
#5
at the 2009 US Open. 👏
He's the 21st American man to reach the Top 5 in ATP rankings history:
My opinion that probably nobody cares about.... 80% of players are always dealing w something (severity levels differ) but everyone is honesty always a little banged up... the media is only ever focusing on the top guys so there issues get more attention 🤷🏻♂️
Some *strong* words from Novak Djokovic.
"Only my injuries are questioned. When some other players are injured, then they are the victims, but when it is me, I am faking it. It is very interesting… I don’t feel that I need to prove anything to anyone."
Not justifying the reaction at all but the amount of people that think a bad bounce = line hit is insane… crazy bounces happen all over the court and especially near lines
American
@Taylor_Fritz97
had a breakthrough run at the Australian Open this year, reaching the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time.
And today, Fritz has broken into the Top 20 on the ATP rankings for the first time.
MOVES UP TO NO. 20:

@MiamiOpen
really proud of how I competed till the end and happy with the level of tennis played.... Sometimes u just gotta say too good to ur opponent 🤷🏻♂️
Devastated to have to pull out with so much on the line. All I wanted was the chance to fight for my potential Turin spot but after getting scans today on my oblique it’s just not possible for me to play. Time to rehab and hope to be back on court as soon as I can be ❤️🩹
Hey guys...I’m okay 😞 probably one of the weirdest things I’ve ever experienced... heart was going absolutely crazy for no reason, I only continued cause it was so odd I thought it maybe would go away and I really hate quitting even if it was probably the smart thing to do
Honestly a lot of positives, played very solid, had my chances, didn’t take them 🤷🏻♂️ sometimes that’s how it goes. Too good from Daniil today but playing good going into

5.39pm: Fritz defeats Murray after 3 hours 2 minutes
8.30pm: Fritz walks onto court to face Thompson
9.59pm: Fritz defeats Thompson to make the semis, totalling 4 hours 20 minutes of play

Stan Wawrinka echoed Zizou Bergs’ statement that many players are getting wrist injuries due to the balls being changed from tournament to tournament.
Zizou: “Many players are getting wrist injuries, which could possibly be prevented by not changing the balls every week.”
Zizou…
Holy shit I just got sent this and had a heart attack…. I DEFINITELY didn’t purposefully like this, I was looking at Stricklands profile a couple days ago cause of all the news he was in while in Vegas. I had to of accidentally liked that while scrolling the replies but wow just…
I was an overly nice line caller in jr’s but honestly when someone was cheating me really bad this is how I handled it, call a random ball out and they wont mess w u again. Is that what’s happening here? Who knows... but if this call is unprovoked then that’s disgusting 😂
I have seen some wild hooks in college tennis. But I’ve never seen anything like this. Charles Courtreau of Radford called this ball out (even though it’s in the middle of the freaking court) because there’s no chair ump for this match. Luckily, the camera caught this.
Taylor Fritz is in the form of his life 👏

And to all the gamblers giving me the typical death threats for not pulling out, I’m really not concerned about your degenerate gambling addictions while I’m playing a match 👌🏻
Answers from 3 different questions all put together as one with no context of the questions, it literally hurts me to try and read this…. Makes it look like I can’t speak English 😂
Taylor Fritz says the Olympics should offer ranking points:
"I think you could go either way with it, I think. I think definitely they should bring back points. There needs to be some type of incentive. Like, it hurts everybody, like, especially the Americans a lot to not,…

How does
@TommyPaul1
not get a WC??? He’s ranked higher then everyone else...has been playing well recently...served for first set last 2 weeks against top 10 players.... like HOW ?!?!?
Yo I’m actually never answering questions in press again this title is ABSOLUTELY WILD.... Tell me where I called on anybody to have crazy “mega outbursts” 😂 let me clarify my stance officially 1/2

Geneva 2019. Fritz replaces Kevin Anderson who has withdrawn due to the knee injury that also sidelined him at the US Open.
For me the balls make the biggest difference in speed, some of the slow/soft balls make the conditions so slow regardless of court speed... Lots of times with those balls it just doesn’t feel like tennis, there’s never a reward for taking a chance on an aggressive shot.
@bgtennisnation
The biggest problem with todays conditions most weeks is the courts and balls are both super slow. Almost zero variety. Why not have some quick courts with slow balls or vice versa? Shanghai was always a bit like this. This allows for all court tennis to be played.
@whoisaddison
and I really just won the Stay At Home Slam + 1 MILLION dollars for our charity of choice
@nokidhungry
!!!! u can tell I was a bit pumped 😅
Always need a follow up explanation for the people that can’t read… when I say separate or premium tour I am NOT saying only top players, as I said in the quote the “main top tour” should be made up of the top 100-120 players kind of like how top 125 in PGA get a tour card and…
Taylor Fritz supports the idea of a premium elite tour for top players consisting of Grand Slams, Masters 1000s & ATP Finals:
"It’s a really good idea, and I think that we should have separate tours. If you’re on the main, top tour, you should be set to play all the big events,…
