TW - Sexual Abuse And LONG Thread. 🧵 I’ve been researching book bans for months now. Counting things, analyzing the board meetings. Examining the books folks want removed from school libraries across the country. You might call me a book ban expert.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable. We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina. A vote for this bill is a mistake.

The average monthly SNAP benefit is $177 a person. The average ACA benefit is up to $550 a person/mo. People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives. Working people want leaders whose word means something.

A wink and a nod to deal with this health care crisis later – with no actual guarantees – is just not enough for me or the Wisconsin families I work for. I refuse to sign off on a deal that doesn’t lower working families’ health care costs.

It's bad enough that NBISD students can't access their school libraries because of the actions of L*bsofTikTok & a few Tx book banners. It's also likely that when the libraries do re-open, they'll be missing a ton of great books. New Braunfels students are worse off as a result.

Why ban books when you can ban the entire library? @NewBraunfelsISD has frozen library purchase orders & closed secondary campus libraries following a harassment campaign by Libs of Tik Tok & other out of district extremists. https://t.co/bHFTVNm7MJ

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who donated to my former student Jose's fund. His family was able to post bond, & last I heard they were picking him up today. It means so much to him, to his family, and to me. YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!!

Columbia canceled my class on Race and Media. But I decided to teach it anyway. So I built a school, instead. 500+ students online and in person. My first independently operated course and lecture begins TONIGHT! WE MOVE!! https://t.co/DXaGePEw5K
