Children's mental health: Huge rise in severe cases, BBC analysis reveals. More support is needed in children’s mental health services for sure but also we need to think about how children make sense of the pandemic and talk about their well being.

Hoping to apply for a grant to support #children with #ASD and #Anxiety. Based on feedback we've made some changes from last time. I would love to talk to some young people and or adults with #ASD #ASC. Thinking about early support and info - what do people think would work.

What makes effective rules that people will follow: enforceable, consistent and backed up, clear, apply to everyone, and logical. Humm I wonder why people in the UK are struggling to follow the rules. Yet- blame is placed on the people for not following rules not the rule makers.

Anyone know of any good outcome meaures for #ASD assessment. Thinking something that particularly targets if the assessment was useful, and if the person undergoing the assessment felt listened too and understood? @LeadbitterKathy @AutismSociety @Autistica.

Just heard about a a great #mentalhealth app! Calm harm seems really helpful for anyone struggling with #selfharm. Especially right now when peoples’ access to coping strategies and support may be reduced and many are stuck in challenging/untenable situations @calmharmapp.

“The names we assign mood disorders often feel like a smokescreen masking ignorance: we group symptoms and we call them an illness because we don’t know how else to define the illness or address the symptoms. This isn’t rocket science: rocket scientists know how rockets work”
