Another Adelaide mansion by Australian architect & builder David Cheney. Built in 2003! ๐ฒ He had no formal training, except as a geography & PE teacher. He died in a motorcycle accident in 2015. He built this French-Baroque home for his own family. More photos below (๐งต1/9)

Materials' palettes are improving. Nice warm olive windows baclonies etc, flint, good choice of bricks and pointing. A far cry from the cheap red bricks, grey bucket handle pointing, and graphite grey frames. It all still lacks the rights window and door design for me and

Really shocking. Huge respect to Bath and NE Somerset Council for following through with this fine.
Knight Frank & Emery Brothers thought they could just start ripping out portions from a 1730s Grade I listed terrace in Bath by John Wood, arguably Britainโs most consequential urban developer/ architect. Theyโve been fined ยฃ190,000. Good. Well done Bath & N East Council โฆ

Let's hope this absolutely ridiculous head and hand being in two different directions stops with devolution. The huge amount that has not been achieved, and the harmful things that have necessarily happened - such as endless roads, cul de sacs, sprawl, lack of buses and trams etc
