If you only have R4k, employ her for the days that money gets you. Don't remove her ability to work for other employers and take away her weekends because you can't afford what it would cost for someone to work for you 7 days a week. Also, cleaner + childcare = 2 jobs = 2 people
When I suggested at that rate they couldn’t afford a FULL TIME domestic worker that idea was as ghastly as free universal healthcare

Ok, let me make it easier to understand. Let's say you go to a shop and you want to buy something for R1000, but it costs R5000. Must the shop give it to you for R1000 because you're desperate? Even if the shop is desperate for the sale, you can't afford it, so you can't have it.
Let me spell it out for those who are struggling: someone’s willingness, and possible desperation, doesn’t make it somehow suddenly okay to exploit them. Please acquire an actual grip.
