I support President Schlissel and Provost Collin’s statement. We will not let anything, including inane Executive Orders from Pres. Trump, keep us from our most important work.

After winning the inaugural award in 2017, Dr. James Jackson became the namesake of the @UMich James S. Jackson Distinguished Career Award for Diversity Scholarship. His scholarly contributions cannot be overstated. Rest In Peace and Power, Dr. Jackson.
It is with great sadness that I announce that James S. Jackson has passed. He was the Founder of the Program for Research on Black Americans. He was a mentor to numerous junior scholars who have become Deans, Department Chairs, Endowed Professors, and leaders in their fields.

This is a great image. But if you don't know who the three Black women at the right are, there at the 1965 signing of the Voting Rights Act, you need to get yourself a copy of my latest book, Vanguard, to find out! #RestoreTheVRA
#OnThisDay in 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed the landmark Voting Rights Act, a centerpiece of the civil rights movement that is still the subject of debate. Constitution Daily: https://t.co/3KwYWJUcxP
