Here is an alternative use case for @Meta's new Multimodal Mode on Quest, which allows you to track both hands and controllers simultaneously!. Designed and 3D printed some parts to attach the controllers to my recurve bow and made a small prototype in Unity to test it out! 🏹

@acmchiplay Side note: the ‘exam room’ in our game stimulus (right) was heavily inspired by @AChairInARoom from @wolfandwood (left). We did this to heighten ecological validity, but it was also a deliberate homage to the game that inspired me to start developing VR horror experiences 🖤

These findings may help explain why puzzle elements are prevalent in horror games - they occupy player's mental resources, which makes jump scares more effective. The results empirically support @Massawyrm statement that "what makes a jump scare work is classic misdirection". 5/7
