Ciona sounds like an excellent model organism to study the 'developmental biology' of material manufacturing -> especially as tunicates are the only animal that creates cellulose (major component of wood), and they create a very pure, long crystal structure as well.

After many yrs building internally @ArcadiaScience, we're now able to partner more with others on cool organisms. You won't hurt my feelings if you don't read my post, but i will cut you if you don't watch our first organismal spotlight animation -- just skip to the bottom! 🧵.

"BBNs" have officially been given a government name: Frontier Research Contractors. The reason why: @ARIA_research has funded a program to help found and scale them!. This is a testament to ARIA's ambition. It's the only pot of funds in the world dedicated to launching these orgs.

The future might be weird and wet -> what if you watered your t-shirt to let the algae on it create new designs, or your TV could repair itself by pouring in some engineered cells that grow nanowires.

I want to build a Foundational Model for Fiber Formation - to do this we need a bio-inspired manufacturing center that enables high-throughput data collection of a wide range of biopolymers, and peptides that form fibers.

My daughter’s suggestion after using @OzloSleep is they need to partner with @audiosampling for greater range of in-bud sounds.
