Had an MLB team's doctor tell me today that he used to think weighted ball training led to injuries. Then he read more on the topic and realized that isn't true. Getting educated on a topic you don't really know about. What a wild concept.

If sprinters at the highest level working with world-class coaches and health pros still very commonly strain their hamstring; what makes you think the slapdick with a degree from Eyewash U can guarantee you a healthy elbow during something as complex as the throwing motion?

Stress=stress=stress. Your body does not differentiate between physical or emotional stress. If you're having a rough training week, pay attention to what else is going on in your life. Finals, relationship issues, etc all have a large effect on your physical health!

The medical field likes to blame weighted ball use for the cause of every injury in the last 3-4 years. But ignore that injuries have been rising for 20 years while they've been telling athletes to not lift heavy, fix their GIRD, and take multiple months off from throwing

For an athlete's first velo phase coming off an injury, the goal isn't necessarily to increase your velo. The main goal should be to give yourself the confidence that your arm can tolerate max stress, and do so for an entire block of training. Any good numbers put up are a bonus.

If an athlete presents with limited mobility in their shoulder/pec, there are a lot of potential solutions for them. Avoiding loading the pecs ain't it though.
