PhD Jessie has come a long way from the Southern girlhood she shared with her sister—the one who stayed behind. In new short fiction by Ashleigh Bryant Phillips, Jessie’s thoughts turn to Joan of Arc, another rural refugee who recanted her faith. https://t.co/EwuwTMT1bp

This was one of the nicest readings I've ever done, maybe *the* nicest--comfortable venue, enthusiastic crowd of readers, host who stood behind me with a flashlight when my aged eyes could no longer read in the dark. HIGHLY recommend this series, what's like it in NYC?
