Kirkland Lake, undoubtedly, has the toughest schedule of the three remaining contenders having to playing Timmins three games in a row… two of which are on the road. And what makes this all the more interesting… these teams will not play one another from here onwards.
The Soo Eagles have locked up the second-to-last playoff spot thanks to a Saturday win over Espanola and Timmins knocking off Iroquois Falls in regulation. One spot remains with Kirkland Lake securing a 4 PT cushion on Blind River with five games left.

I can’t even be upset about the loss. Yes it stings and will sting for a while… but the USA won gold for Johnny and the Gaudreau family. He’s smiling down from heaven right now. That gold was for Johnny Hockey. This is a feel good moment.
