City Hall has issued a high pollution alert for London due to air pollution from mainland Europe. I urge Londoners to look after themselves and protect those with conditions such as asthma. This includes refraining from engine idling and burning wood or garden waste.

Something to consider on the long wait for the 6-second green phase on Roman Road outside The Albert
There is something deeply absurd about the modern pedestrian crossing. You press the beg-button and then you wait. And wait. Interminable wait times reveal a deeper pathology. The pedestrian is, at best, an afterthought - at worst, an obstruction. https://t.co/8fy9dPVP80

❗️Bad news for the haters but great news for asthma sufferers like me - ULEZ WORKS! A report found London’s air quality was improving at a faster rate than that of the rest of England❗️ Thank you @SadiqKhan for perservering against the backlash.

London Fire Commissioner Andy Rowe on the impact of LTNs on attendance times: "We genuinely couldn't find any evidence of LTNs doing anything to our overall attendance times". Consistent with DfT review: "LTNs do not adversely affect response times for emergency vehicles."

Charing Cross Road, pedestrianised today. Glorious. Because whenever you take cars away, cities get better.

Birchfield Street. Please @TowerHamletsNow, don't block the pavement with signage without providing a dropped kerb for wheelchair/pushchair/sholley users to get across the road. Reported on your app.
