How come no white women have written obnoxious think pieces about how Kate Middleton looking perfect during pregnancy and right after giving birth is harmful to them in a variety of ways like they did for Beyoncé and Serena?
@THISisLULE
For all those wondering who some of the writers of said 'think pieces' on Beyonce were, here ya go: Sarah Vine, Micaiah Bilger, RA Farley, Leandra Medine, Janet Street-Porter and Rosie Millard
@onefumi
Nowhere near as close as the venom that was directed at Beyoncé and Serena. This woman is just making fun of herself. There were pieces that literally said Beyoncé shouldn’t post pregnancy pics coz it triggered people who had suffered miscarriages or that she wasn’t a “real” mom
@THISisLULE
@Karnythia
Hillary Mantel once wrote a piece that seemed to be critical of Kate Middleton's perfection and all of the United Kingdom exploded in outrage. You're right: white princesses (literal and metaphoric) are untouchable.
@THISisLULE
I bet you could take one of those articles, keep it basically word for word but sub out Beyoncé with Kate Middleton and you’d have an apocalyptic white feminist freak-out on your hands.
They’d still be weeping & gnashing their teeth even after you explained the “joke”.
@THISisLULE
Christ I didn't realise the stuff written about Beyonce/Serena was so awful (I don't care about any births)- almost like dystopian fic centred on selected vaginas. Perhaps 'Handmaid's Tale' season 3 material?
@AU_JBeau
I wish people would quit directing me to articles like this without looking into the articles about Beyoncé and Serena I referenced in my tweet. Any article that doesn’t frame Kate as villain for being publicly happy and beautiful is irrelevant to the question I asked.

@elenacresci
Just putting it out there - Kate, apart from being pretty and marrying a prince, hasn’t achieved anything. Beyoncé and Serena are achievers, role models, and many women look up to them. Plus they speak. So people actually care about what the two ladies do.
@Neera_jah
Please point me to articles in which ppl said Kate’s pics ruined their day, triggered their ptsd about miscarriages and infertility. In which they said Kate shouldn’t celebrate her child publicly. In which they called her arrogant for being pregnant and pretty etc.
I’ll wait.
