Happy birthday, W.S. Merwin... And here's this poem for someone, and anyone, who needs a reminder of the power of certain bonds:

‘Poem’ in Persian is ‘she‘r,’ شعر from an Arabic root that means ‘to feel,’ and ‘to be conscious.’

Plagiarism doesn't play, kids, in the age of Turnitin. Had to write two sharply worded emails tonight (something I'm very good at). Received mea culpas within minutes. 🍎 🖌🍎 (Side gig teaching job statement.)

I'm bored, don't want to watch my shows, kinda out of it, sipping ultra iced coffee. Hey, let's grade some papers!

I never made it to Arlington (I know...), but I did see places like Calder and Hollywood and @SuffolkDowns and the ghost of Hialeah. The loss to the industry as a whole when these places close is immeasurable. Those who actively choose to make it happen should never be forgiven.
